Getting Caught Up with Server Orders
Written by Tom Monday, 18 January 2010 14:00
The response to the RB-1200 product has been much greater than anticipated and the first batch has sold out. In fact all server sales have increased to the point where we started falling behind our 1-week lead time. I guess these are good problems to have...
We also started to run out of MD-1510, so for the first time I had to set an inventory level in the shopping cart software to "2" (indicating only 2 left). Instead of setting "inventory remaining" though, I set "minimum order quantity"... so my apologies to anyone who wanted to order an MD-1510 but the shopping cart insisted you could only order 2 at a time.
Another run of RB-1200's is being planned & hopefully this product will be available again soon. We are also planning a 20-drive full-tower product. More soon...
unRAID on the Web
Written by Tom Monday, 11 January 2010 09:07
There are a number of articles and videos on the Web that talk about unRAID, so I thought I'd create a page that lists them. I should point out that all this content is independent - that is, no one from Lime Technology had any part in the writing or production.
If you see a page that should be listed here, or if you are an author and need more information regarding unRAID, please contact us.
Website Face Lift

On about the 18th of last month, I started getting bandwidth exceeded notifications from our download host provider. This account provides for 100GB transfer/month. Since the unRAID Server zip file size is about 50MB, this means we had over 2000 downloads in an 18 day period(!). As a result, the downloads have been moved to a separate host which can provide far more bandwidth.
In addition, I reorganized our Joomla! based website, and added a new 12-drive server: the RB-1200 Media Storage Server.
BTW, I must say working with Joomla! has been very enjoyable. In particular if the core does not provide a certain functionality, you can almost always find what you need (or close to it) as an extension.
Speaking of extensions - I had hoped to release a preview of unRAID Server 5.0 for review during the holiday break. Unfortunately addressing the download crisis consumed all my development time. I promise to have something out there very soon. Hint to prospective extension authors: start learning Ruby...
Since quite a bit has been changed in both the layout and content of the website, I would greatly appreciate any reports of typos, errors, suggestions, comments, etc.
