  1. Thank you for testing that. I'll upgrade and try it out.
  2. My MB has 2 JMB363 controllers (GA-MA790FXT-UD5P) that work with unRAID but do not spin down as SMART does not work with them. Do you have this issue?
  3. "Why did you do a FW uppgrade ? and did you do the FW uppgrade from unRAID server?" If it had the Raid bios installed unRAID will not see it. The Base bios is what you want. Here is the link: http://www.siliconimage.com/support/searchresults.aspx?pid=32&cat=15 Use the 7.7.02 version. Use a Windows computer to upgrade the Bios.
  4. I would look at a single rail supply.
  5. A $10 ATI Rage card off ebay actually uses less power than an integrated video solution. As far as economics.... can't argue there.
  6. I have this board running with the same processor. The 2 GSATA2 controllers (JMB322) have 2 SATA2 ports each (total of 4) that work but SMART does not so you cannot spin-down any drives connected to them (at least I haven't been able to). Plenty of expansion slots with 2 PCIe x16 slots and 3 PCIe x1 slots though. I can confirm that the Adaptec 1430SA cards work in the x16 slots at the same time. You might want to reconsider your power supply selection. I have this supply in my main rig but I use a Corsair 650w single rail supply in my unRAID (I have 13 drives in my setup). You will need a video card. I suggest a PCI based ATI Rage type video card (look on ebay).
  7. unRAID can only use a max of 2 cores but a single core works just fine.
  8. I am not using the JMB322 for PM's; I just want to use the SATA2 ports on the JMB322 for HDD's in my unRAID. They will work if you don't care about SMART and spindown (hopefully someone can fiqure out how to make these features work). My case will hold 18 HD's w/o modification and with my 2 Adaptec 1430SA's, the 6 SATA2 on the MB (not counting the 4 SATA2 on the 2 JMB322's) and 2 SI3132 cards I have 18 SATA2 ports on the PCI-e bus. I still have a spare PCI-ex1 slot available. If there is a way to get the JMB322 chipset to use SMART the MA790FXT-UD5P is almost a perfect unRAID MB (only lacking built-in video). The 2 PCI-ex16 video slots can be used for the Adaptec 1430SA and with 3 PCI-ex1 slots for SI3132 cards thats a potential of 24 SATA2 ports on the PCI-e bus. It can use the 45W AMD Sempron 140 Sargas (plus this board will unlock the 2nd core) and has 2 PCI-e GLan ports.
  9. I have tried Big (JBOD) and Normal (Port Multiplier) with no luck regarding SMART. Not sure what else to try. Ideas?
  10. The JMB322 works in unRAID but the drive will not spindown. Also SMART does not seem to work. Any ideas?
  11. You have to tell me... what do you get when you type: php -v what version of unMENU are you running? What version of the package-manager plug-in? Joe L. I get "php: error while loading shared libraries: libxm12.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory". I have no idea how to check what package manager I am using.
  12. It says the following: "Installed, but version is different. Current version='2.2.10' expected '5.2.8'" Everytime I try to reinstall I get this error. What am I doing wrong?
  13. Thanks I have 2 of the Adaptec 1430SA's with Seagate 1.5T HDD's attached to them, so yes they work.
  14. Between my son & myself we now have 16 of the Seagate ST31500341AS drives and 2 of the ST31000340AS drives (1 I upgraded the firmware on). I also have 3 Samsumg HD753LJ (1 was replaced under warranty). We both have over 10T of data on these and have never had an issue. You cannot beat the price/performance of the ST31500341AS IMHO.
