  1. For some weird reason I'm not able to connect to my unRAID system via the network, can't ping it nothing. From the console, I've backed up the network.cfg and deleted the original, rebooted into safe mode and reset the NIC IP/subnet and gateway. Soon as I applied it, could ping the unRAID server. Rebooted, and when it finished rebooting, the NIC was not responding again. Going in and changing the IP to something else, applying doesn't help. Only way I can get it to respond is boot in safe mode and delete the network.cfg and reboot to safe mode and set it to static and apply. Anyone have any suggestions ? Danilo
  2. Having an odd issue, I've got 3 Win 10 Pro machines that are working fine. And I have a Win 11 Pro notebook, that when I attempt to connect to a share on my unRaid system, says that the AD username/password is invalid. I know the username/password is correct (triple checked it) Verified that SMB 2/3 are enabled on the Win11 machine On unRaid I have set in the SMB Extra's min protocol = SMB2 It's joined to my AD domain (the 3 Win10 Pro machines, are all AD joined, and map drives with no problem) I'm just having issues with this one Win11 machine, anyone else having issues with Win 11? Danilo
  3. Never mind, wound up deleting my network.cfg and reconfiguring it. Think it was due to when I put the system in the rack I was going from having only 1 Gig NIC enabled to enabling a 10GIG nic and screwed up the config. Wiping the cfg file and rebooting let me re-build my network config.
  4. Setup a new system and today I just moved it into my rack. I'm not able to ping or access the web interface for it. Swapped cables, verified that the port and cables are good (hooked them up to another machine and tested them) I'm able to logon to the CLI at the console, ifconfig is showing the IP/Subnet mask that I gave it. Not sure why it wouldn't be communicating. Any ideas?
  5. Yea wound up setting up a two port etherchannel, so the switch/unRAID thinks it has a 2GB network connection. Although I'm about to retire that system, building a new system that I'm putting a 10GB Fiber card into.
  6. In the process of building a new system and have a Supermicro X8DT3-LN4F, does anyone know if it supports PCIe bifurcation? I'm wanting to put a ASUS Hyper m.2 card in for my cache drives.
  7. I'm in the process of building a new unRAID server to replace my 7 year old one. I've got a LSI 9201-16i controller for the new system, I've got some 8TB Ironwolf SATA drives that I plan on migrating over to the new system, but a friend has some 10TB SAS drives he's offered to give me, but I've never messed with SAS drives yet but looking at the stats, I'm very interested in getting two 10TB 12Gbps SAS drives for free. Can I mix SATA and SAS drives with the LSI 9201-16i ? I realize if I put these two SAS drives in, I'll either have to make them my parity or get 10TB parity drives, but just in the thinking process at the moment. Thanks Chuck
  8. Have an old system I built back with UnRaid v5, that although it's still working well, I'm thinking of building a new one. Currently running 4U Rackmount case Supermicro X9SCL Mobo 16GB RAM Xeon E3-1220 V2 @ 3.10GHz Quad Core 10 3.5" trayless drive slots Drives Parity: (2) 8TB Ironwolf drives Data: (3) 4TB Seagate (2) 4TB WD (1) 3TB WD (1) 8TB WD Red (1) 6TB WD Red Total Space: 33TB Free: 12TB Cache (2) 250GB SSD (1) 500 WD HD Dockers: Sabnzbd Plex Sonarr Ubooquity Overall system has been rock solid, but has running since 2014, I think the old gal is due a replacement. Looking at a Supermicro 3U CSE-836TQ-R800B case with 16 3.6" bays. for the new case. Not sure which CPU to use yet the Xeon has been a workhorse though. The biggest thing is Plex, but would like to ensure i have some room for growth on it, and maybe play with some VM's. Any suggestions? Chuck
  9. Just managed to get my hands on a Cisco 3750X switch, and looking to try and setup the two Intel Gig NIC's in my unRAID system to give better bandwidth. Anyone have any experience setting up a cisco switch to unRAID? Thanks Danilo
  10. Thanks for the suggestion of using CA backup. I've backed up the 5 dockers I have running, and have created the cache pool and am currently restoring my appdata to get the dockers back online. I have also added the new Parity 2 drive, and am doing a Parity Sync to get the new drive up to speed. Being an 8TB I assume it's going to take the better part of a day. Once that's done, I'll remove the 4TB parity drive and "replace" it with the other 8TB and do a parity sync again. Then I just need to add the old 4TB parity drive in as a data drive.
  11. Well, got an email from my raid this morning saying the pre-clearing has completed (Started Wen night) on the two 250GB SSD's for the Cache and the two new 8TB Ironwolf drives that will becoming my parity drives. In preparation, I've disabled cache drive access on all of my shares. So the existing cache drive, right now, only has Docker Appdata folder on it. Guess my first thing tonight will be disable dockers and move that data off the current cache drive. Unassign the current cache drive from the system. Assign the 2 SSD and the old cache drive back, as cache drives and format them all so they can be a cache pool. Then work on the parity, I think I'm going to use johnnie's suggestion #2. Add the 2nd parity drive, and rebuild parity. Then remove the old 4TB and replace it with the other 8TB. This should keep parity secure during the update.
  12. Thanks guys. I've just mounted the two 8TB drives, and have one of them pre-clearing right now. Forgot I had picked up a pair of 250GB SSD's I was going to add in as cache drives (had to pickup power cables and forgot), so I have one of those pre-clearing now as well So I've got a fun week. My intention is to go ahead and replace the 4TB Current Parity drive with the two 8TB drives. I currently have a 500GB WD Blue drive as a cache, and was planning on adding these SSD's as a cache pool but realized the existing drive is formatted reiserfs. So I'll have to do some playing around with the cache drives as well lol. I'll have to look, I would love to set the cache drives up so that the two SSD's are the primary cache drives, and use the 500GB as storage for Dockers/etc
  13. I'm currently running one 4TB drive as parity. I've just purchased two 8TB Ironwolf drives, that I want to upgrade the existing 4TB Parity, and add the other 8TB as a second parity. Does anyone have suggestions on the best way to do this? I've just gotten my two Ironwolf drives in today, and will be putting them in to start preclearing them. Thanks Danilo
  14. Having an issue with the Sabnzbd docker app. Every time I have to reboot my unRAID box, Sabnzbd is reset, and I have to go back through and set it up all over again. I've got the config setup on my cache drive. Danilo
  15. Thanks crcobb, that script fixed the issues. Currently waiting for 260GB of cached files to get moved to the array lol
