  1. Hey Guys, Thanks you rock, I fired up a VM and setup a virtual unRAID server to generate a clean passwd file, copied it over and I can log in the CLI now ;D . Strange thing was I checked for hidden chars in the file and could not find any. But it's working now so I'm happy. Same to say I made a backup of my flash drive After a second look I see Windows must have added something as the lines ended in CR LF, whereas the original file only has LF
  2. LOL I wish, safe to say I learn't my lesson. Not sure if that is the problem though as it is passing other commands fine. I added in the following lines for the avahi user as I use Plex. avahi:x:61:214:Avahi Daemon User:/dev/null:/bin/false avahi-autoipd:x:62:62:Avahi AutoIP Daemon User:/dev/null:/bin/false The avahi user is created fine so I would assume the file is fine as well. Must be something else went amiss
  3. Thanks for the suggestion Hexen, afraid no joy. I use Notepad++ as my editor as I have had issues in the past. Tried reseting the password as suggested, still fails to login. It looks like it is authenticating correctly, it only terminates the Telnet session if I input the correct login details. Hmm, hoping I don't have to start over, it would be a mission to setup all those shares again.
  4. Hi, I'm hoping someone can help. Recently my unRAID server's CLI stopped working, when trying to login directly into the console on the server using the correct credentials I get the following error, then I'm taken back to the login prompt: "No such directory or file" I'm sure it's something simple, but I'm stumped. It should be noted that the webGUI works and the server is running fine otherwise. I recently edited the passwd file under the config folder, not sure if that messed something up. I already tried disabling all my plugins and downgrading back to 5.0-rc16c from 5.0-i386. syslog attached syslog.txt
  5. Well, no luck getting a screenshot. I have increased my cache pressure though, as suggested in some of the other posts. Suspect the issue may be related to memory allocation, only time will tell.
  6. Hello, hoping someone can help me out. I bought the pro License and am loving UnRAID so far. Strange thing is my server seems to drop off the network every few days, normally when I'm copying large volumes of data to it. I can't connect to the console at all and the screen is back so I can't even get a syslog or screen shot of any error. I have to hard reset in order to get the server back up last time. I an running a 1gbit Realtek Adapter. I did see some reported issue with these cards. Otherwise the system is fairly OK, 6GB RAM with a Sempron 145 (soon to be replaced with a 25watt AMD Athlon II x2 270u) and a Biostar Motherboard. Any chance UnRAID would have saved another copy of the syslog somewhere that I can post or is it all saved on the RAM drive. Other alternative may be to move the official release 4.7? I run PS3media server, Serviio, Logmein Hamachi, Sickbeard, Sabnzbd and Couchpotato. So I suppose one of those could be at fault as well :-( Will try get a screenshot posted if I can before I reset the server again, at work at the mo, so will have to wait till later.
  7. Thanks gfjardim, had the same issue as sam9s on version 5.0 beta 11, so I just ran through all the settings, ran h2control save. Then I manually copied the logmein-hamachi folder under /var/lib to my /boot/custom directory and added the following to my go script: cp -r /boot/custom/logmein-hamachi /var/lib Now it saves my settings on reboot
  8. OK so a little research led me to reiserfsck, it appears the drive may be badly corrupted, it's suggesting I run a --rebuild-sb. The SMART report for the disk also lists lots of issues. Luckily enough I believe the Parity Sync finished processing that disk as it was one of the smallest. I unmounted the disk so I could run reiserfsck and have left it that way. I then restarted samba and can see my shares again as well as the missing data from earlier. Still not sure about the data on the suspect disk though. Any idea how I check to see if the Parity sync is still in operation? Also how do I shutdown the server safely seeing as I can't do it via the GUI? On UK time so hopefully someone from this side of the Pond has some experience with the CLI. smart_Disk3-ERRORS.txt
  9. Hi All, I suspected one of my drives might be going bad, so I decided to run a parity check. Unfortunately the first one, since I just finished migrating, my data and installing a parity disk. The parity check seemed to be running fine until this morning when I tried to browse one of my disks through the web GUI. I have since been unable to access the web GUI or telnet to the box. I can still browse my flash disk and shares via SMB though. However some data is not showing (worried look on face). I tried copying the syslog to my flash drive, but it contains no data. So I did the next best thing and took a picture of the screen, attached. My question is now do I leave the system as is, and hope the parity check completes (ETA 5 Hours)? Is there any way to check the progress form the CLI? Oh yes. I'm running 5.0 beta 11
