  1. Very interesting would be nice for it that to happen... I use XBMC so it is pretty easy to add all the different places. But using sickbeard means always having to make sure theres space on the orignal unRAID for the TV shows that are on that one that will continue to download.
  2. I'm not sure that the mv8 support expanders. Also they are a lot slower than the m1015's which is what most people expander the mv8 already seem to get slow down when they are full.
  3. Just wanted to say thanks, setup esxi originally following your guide when there was only a few pages in this thread. Every time I research something new to add its always your posts I find that you've already looked at it. So thanks for saving the rest of us so much time lol. Just got my UPS working but its a serial port one so setup differently to yours but using your scripts works perfectly Now just gotta buy all the bits for my DAS.
  4. Screenshot please! That would of been a smart thing to do I uninstalled it without doing so to reinstall it to see if that would fix it but had to go out. I will reinstall it tonight and see if I get the same problem.
  5. Just installed simplefeatures for the first time. Looked like it was working until i saw its saying all my hard drives are at 85 degrees and doesn't show the usage. If I open unMenu it shows all the right information. Anyone had this problem / know a fix?
  6. Nice to see someone has done this! I have just started buying parts to do this myself. Currently running unraid in ESXi in a Norco 4220 and filled it up pretty much so am buying a norco 4224 only other difference is I'm planning to use the intel expanders. Updating my mobo/processor while i'm at it. Seems like going to have to order some bits from states as supermicro motherboards are a pain to find over here and a PE-2SD1-R10 for the DAS (if it will work?) so might take a while to get it all collected. Will keep an eye on this thread!
  7. Hi there, I have been running unraid for maybe 3-4 months now and have it running all virtualized and has been working fine. Today was a powercut, (I have a UPS but since adding a few new hard drives or it getting old it hasnt been working correctly and need a new one) now when i start unraid all the drives are showing as unassigned. Not sure how to go about getting the array back. Have read that just putting them back in right order and clicking start will make it work but I have no idea what order they were in and there is 11 drives or so in the array so not really an option. Running: unRAID OS version 5.0-beta13 Have attached the syslog. Any advice or help would be grateful for. syslog.txt
  8. Yeah I am in the UK. Actually have a trade account with one of the retailers listed there, hopefully its new stock as they didn't have them a few weeks ago. I'll contact them today but like most people that say they have them most of the time they just have virtual stock & then when you go to order or talk to them about it they go of and try to dropship it to you and then notice they can't actually get it lol. Had 3 suppliers already do this with one of the supermicro boards. Shipping it from the US may end up being one of only options I guess. Hopefully tho, they will actually have some and I'll be able to get hold of one. Really its only the motherboard i'm left to source before I can actually start. Then just to decide on a UPS. Cheers for the help.
  9. Hi there, Have been reading this forum for maybe 2 months after looking for a new way to store my media. I'm jumping in at the deep end really and planning on building a server that can take 20 drives all 2TB WD green. Seeing as I already have around 7 2tb full. Case: Norco 4220 (xcase over here) processor:i3 540 RAM: 4gb DDR3 Cards: Supermicro AOC-SASLP-MV8 x2 PSU: Corsair Memory TX650W 650 Watt PSU ATX Motherboard: This is where im having the problem picking one. I really want to use an i3 as I have one spare and are nice processors for the price. Did like the look of the supermicro pretty much impossible to find in the UK from what i've seen. So any advice would be helpful, I have many I could just choice but id rather get one that has been tested at least a little. Planning on changing out the fan plate and replacing it so im able to fit 3x 120mm Noctua to keep the noise down and nice cooling. Any thing else i've missed? (Apart from cables/usb stick)
