cbr600ds2
Yup...apparently I'm confused. I'm using a WD router - in the DHCP client table it doesn't show the unraid server...even though it's there. I could manually add it through the WD router software but would it screw something up? Quote Link to comment
bkastner
Yup...apparently I'm confused. I'm using a WD router - in the DHCP client table it doesn't show the unraid server...even though it's there. I could manually add it through the WD router software but would it screw something up? Okay, so if you've manually set an IP address then it won't show in the DHCP client table - because it's not currently a client. From your UnRAID server click on Settings -> Network Settings. The top line should show you the MAC address for the network card in your computer. From the WD router under DHCP you should be able to set DHCP reservations. You will need to add the MAC address from your server, and then specify what IP you want it to get. This will basically force the UnRAID server to always get the same IP. You should then be able to go back to UnRAID and enable the feature: Obtain IP Address Automatically. Then hit apply, and Done. I *think* UnRAID should grab the address right away. You can then double-check the network settings and make sure you see the same address, plus the gateway and DNS server. You should also now see the server listed on the DHCP tab on the WD router. from here all should be good. Quote Link to comment
cbr600ds2
Stupid last thing - configuring e-mail and I'm getting a cannot open email:25 error. My values seem ok but what does 25 mean? Quote Link to comment
bkastner
Stupid last thing - configuring e-mail and I'm getting a cannot open email:25 error. My values seem ok but what does 25 mean? 25 is the port for SMTP (email). Do you have an email server configured? I am not using this option in UnMENU. Quote Link to comment
nacat78
Are there going to be additional updates to unmenu to have additional packages and other things available in V6..... also have a few *.conf files that are almost always there when I do the User Scripts / Check for Updates ... I select Install unmenu updates then they say they are installed, then once i visit the packages page, then press update again they are all available for update again... JonathanM
I'm not sure what is causing this, but the syslog viewer in unmenu seems to choke on the first part of my syslog since I upgraded motherboards. fern459
Yes I did see it but like another person a few posts back kept giving me the error of directory does not exist ... even after I created it, it still would not allow me to install it. I must be doing something wrong. This is the last thing to keep me from upgrading to V6. I got the same error trying to install it with 5.0.5. Had to install an older version. Not sure if it's compatible with vs 6 though. I figured this out... you just have to edit the NEW (1.6) ds_store_cleanup-unmenu-package.conf file as it seems when it was edited two lines were missed, Line 9 in version 1.6 PACKAGE_INSTALLED /var/log/ds_store_cleanup needs to be PACKAGE_INSTALLED /tmp/ds_store_cleanup and if you want the version to match Line 96 PACKAGE_VERSION_STRING 1.5 needs to be PACKAGE_VERSION_STRING 1.6 attached are the changes, I just ran this on v6 and got an email with all the cleaned files (providing you have installed the email package that is). ds_store_cleanup-unmenu-package.conf Quote Link to comment

SmallwoodDR82
not 100% sure if this is still maintained or not but thought I would throw out some findings/ideas. 1.) Noticed the image in the upper left corner (lime-tech) isn't showing anymore, I found the url link that was being used and sure enough it's no longer there. I used the Lime Tech forum image and it seemed to be a perfect fit. Here is what the code looks like now: background-image: url('http://lime-technology.com/forum-logo.png'); 2.) I noticed there is no favicon set for the default index.html. I've been looking but can't seem to pin point it. Just need to add a small command inside <head></head> Any ideas? 3.) Any chance of having the option to change the temp to F for us yankees =\ Thank you for everything unmenu works amazing! Quote Link to comment
Joe L.
not 100% sure if this is still maintained or not but thought I would throw out some findings/ideas. It is still being maintained. 1.) I used the Lime Tech forum image and it seemed to be a perfect fit. Here is what the code looks like now: background-image: url('http://lime-technology.com/forum-logo.png'); If lime-tech changed the location of their image, there's not a whole lot I can do other than update the link location as you've done. Since this is in the .css file you can change it as you like in /boot/unmenu/images/stock/unmenu.css... It was specifically designed to allow you to skin unMENU as you desire. Thanks for reporting it as something you've noticed. 2.) I noticed there is no favicon set for the default index.html. I've been looking but can't seem to pin point it. Just need to add a small command inside <head></head> Any ideas? That might be because unMENU does not use a default index.html. Nor does it use a web-server.!!! It is only an "awk" program pretending to be a web-server and set of pages... It is single-threaded, and was never written to handle images, never-mind a favicon. (really clever techniques have been used to display the images it does display, either by using emhttp as the image server, or the image-server add-on from the package manager) You'll just have to make do without a favicon. 3.) Any chance of having the option to change the temp to F for us yankees =\ Sure. Just ask your disk manufacturers to convert to F instead of C when reporting the temperature. Or, if you do not have an "in" with the disk manufacturers and you want to have a go at it yourself, it is just an "awk" script. You are free to modify the routine that grabs the disk temperature "GetDiskTemperature" ( should be at line 2364 of unmenu.awk ) Just be sure to also make the appropriate changes to the logic that checks for disk overheating and temperature range highlighting to use F instead of C. Thank you for everything unmenu works amazing! For what it is (a collection of awk and shell scripts) and does, yes, it is amazing. Quote Link to comment
trurl
Don't know what use having the temp in F would be anyway. It's not like it's a weather report. It's just a number relative to other numbers. I have never even thought about what a 35C drive temp would be in F. I just know that 40 is getting warm, and 50 is too hot. Quote Link to comment
cassiusdrow
3.) Any chance of having the option to change the temp to F for us yankees =\ All discussion of hard drive temps on this forum are usually in Celsius. Quote Link to comment
bkastner
We could always request it be listed in Kelvin so that no one feels left out. Quote Link to comment

nacat78
3.) Any chance of having the option to change the temp to F for us yankees =\ +1 I personally only F on temperature systems, but having an option would be nice, if not, no worries BTW thanks for keeping unmenu supported, its my fallback if the GUI locks up or quits responding. SSD
Even yankees tend to track computer related temps in degrees C. That includes motherboard temps, CPU temps, and disk temps. Never seen them converted. It is good to get used to them in C! Quote Link to comment

You don't even need to know the Fahrenheit conversions ... all you need to know is what's "good" and "bad" for your drives and CPU ... of all the many things I can think of that it'd be nice to "tweak" UnMenu for, temperature display alternatives are WAY at the bottom of the list ! drawde
the latest ruby/sinatra that can be installed with unmenu package manager is 1.9.1. anyone know how to manually install or update the package to 1.9.3? Quote Link to comment
mostlydave
I just upgraded to unraid 6 beta 6, is this compatible, and if so should I be carrying over any of my old config. All of the directions I found are for installing in the /boot/unmenu folder, but when I look at the backup of my flash drive unmenu folder is in the root of the drive. is this a change or did I have it setup wrong? If you've not updated unMENU recently, you'll need to use the check-for-updates and subsequent install-updates buttons that are on the user-scripts pages. You'll only see unMENU packages that are 64 bit compatible (and "disable re-install on reboot" buttons for those that are not 64 bit compatible) There are 64 bit versions available for install of many of the more popular packages. Thanks Joe, I'm a windows guy so sometimes its the little things that get you, I got it reinstalled and working!
