RobJ
When you detect what is obvious spam is it possible to delete it rather than move it to Bilge? The current treatment interferes with trying to only read new posts. A moderator can bilge or delete the spam, but personally, I like having a copy of one post or one thread bilged for background examination (and full banning!). I want to make sure that certain IP's get banned too. The rest by the same spammer can be deleted. Bilged spam or spam threads do not need a redirection post. Quote Link to comment

RobJ
I don't know how well providers in that side of the world protect their internet access, but it is very common for providers to disallow address spoofing. Making it impossible for users to fake their origin. It can happen of course that spambots are started from somewhere else. And I hope that continues for the 'civilized Internet' part of the world. Unfortunately, corruption can go fairly high in various parts of the world, and the cyber gangs have as much or little control as they want. I'll note that the 'Russian' gang responsible for almost all of the recent stuff used 'mail.ru' for ALL of their email addresses. Be nice to ban it entirely, but mail.ru is for them like the gmail and hotmail in our world. Quote Link to comment
CHBMB
We're planning on moving to IPS Forum s/w: https://invisionpower.com/features/apps/ I'm a little bit sad if I'm honest. One thing I love about this forum is it's "old school" feel and lack of bloat. But I understand the need to move on to bigger and better things, I do, however, reserve the right to shed a tear or two when we migrate. Quote Link to comment

jonp
We're planning on moving to IPS Forum s/w: https://invisionpower.com/features/apps/ Any reason you did choose IPS Forum over Xenforo? Do you have a time estimate of when this will happend? Yes, IPS offers a fuller set of features for us beyond just forum software. We were looking for a complete solution that included content management and ecommerce. There are LOTS of exciting things we can do natively with IPS that Xenforo and other solution just didn't have pre-baked. A side benefit as well is that the theme Xenforo uses is still pretty outdated looking (not aesthetically as pleasing as IPS, though that is somewhat of a personal preference). As far as timing, we are in the process of testing a database migration. It looks like MOST of it is porting over great, but there are a few things in BB code that didn't translate right. ljm42
Exciting news! Two requests: 1) Super happy to see that IPS supports Tapatalk. Please enable it, I use it all the time 2) Please default everything to https. Having any authenticated site using plain http is just asking for trouble these days. Quote Link to comment

I am using it now but some of the posts just show up mostly blank as the Video links don't show up until I go to http. I hope IPS will work correctly in that regard. Unless that is a chrome setting that I have setup incorrectly? Quote Link to comment
