OK so i have been wanting to create a list of useful tablet/smart phone apps for consuming media/configuration of unraid for a while.

At home i keep things pretty minimal by using tablet/smart phones and a single htpc connected to the main tv to consume media from unraid, i have one old laptop and that is it, this keeps cost and complexity down to a minimum, i work in the I.T. industry, last thing i want to do is come home and start fixing broken stuff! :-)

So without further ado here is my list of apps, im a android user only:-

Application name

JuiceSSH https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sonelli.juicessh&hl=en_GB

Description

SSH client for android, allows me to connect to unraid, even supports running screen too!, highly recommended

Application name

FolderSync https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=dk.tacit.android.foldersync.full&hl=en_GB

Description

This is a nice clean folder/file sync utility that i use to automate copying of content from smart phone to unraid, i use a single ftp user account and sync content up, supports a VERY wide selection of storage destination options, including amazon cloud, onedrive, google drive/dropbox etc

Application name

NZB+ https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.oudhoff.usenetdownloader&hl=en_GB

Description

Superb little app for interacting with SABnzbd+, sickbeard, and CouchPotato, also includes a really nice search function too, so will search any newznab based index site, highly recommended!!.

Application name

Transdroid https://github.com/erickok/transdroid/releases

Description

Again another really nice torrent frontend, it supports all the major torrent clients, deluge/utorrent/transmission/rutorrent etc, built in search can also be had but does require an additional side load of a apk, again highly recommended!!.

Application name

VNC Viewer https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.realvnc.viewer.android&hl=en_GB

Description

Basic vnc client for when you need to see whats going on with your unraid kvm/xen machines

Application name

RD Client https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.microsoft.rdc.android&hl=en_GB

Description

MS rdp client, again used for interacting with vm's running on unraid

Application name

Madsonic https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=github.madmarty.madsonic&hl=en_GB

Description

Madsonic client to talk to Madsonic server, very solid for me, stream music whilst on the move straight from my dockerized Madsonic server running on unraid

Application name

TVHClient https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.tvheadend.tvhclient&hl=en_GB

Description

Running tvheadend??, if so you need this app in your life!, its REALLY nicely done and free, gives you streaming access to live tv, play recordings, view the EPG, set recordings etc.

Application name

Yatse https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.leetzone.android.yatsewidgetfree&hl=en_GB

Description

If your using XBMC, then get this, its just awesome, really nice interface, streaming of your media with full metadata, remote control of xbmc too.

Application name

Plex https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.plexapp.android&hl=en_GB

Description

not much to say here really, we all know what plex is about, streaming your content over 3/4G, if you need remote access to your media this is the app to get

Application name

BubbleUPnP https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bubblesoft.android.bubbleupnp&hl=en_GB

Description

Really nice UPnP client to consume your media, will play music, videos, and pictures, combine it with the minidlna docker and run on unraid.

Only thing I have to add is nzb360,  for a while it was definitely the best android app for all automated newsgroups.  Just now seeing nzb+,  looks like other apps have caught up.  But it was and still is my app of choice,  it also looks beautiful.  Unfortunately it was pulled from the app store by Google so it does have to be side loaded but the developer is great and worth supporting.

Thanks for your list binhex,  most I have heard of but it's nice to see what other people swear by.
