  1. Its been awhile since i had my unraid on line , I am using plex server by needo , Says its up to date but getting this issue. Unraid is at 6.3.5. My question is that one docker i am using not supported anymore?
  2. I have not had my server on in 2 years , i just got it up and running again but now i can not access through windows 10 ,It shows up under networks> did some searching but not sure what to really look for! tia
  3. Thank you, No i was not going to keep any data from old drives . I am going to try that tonight!
  4. Great info I did not even think about that, I should of been more precise on my question, Can I just remove flash drive over without the other drives?
  5. What is the correct way to move my unraid 6 usb to my new build?
  6. @garycase. You mentsion "a set of back up drives" I am assume you me external from this unraid system .jusy looking for clarification ,
  7. Lol This is my back up and data all in one. Being on a budget and finally getting all the component needed to complete one build has been tough. Now you tell me i need to build 2nd one to back up first one! Oh boy!!LOL Yeah I know can never have to many back ups!! On serious the note - I have most of my stuff scatter on smaller drives, hoping this will allow me to combine all to one disc ,then back that on to another disc or two in the unraid tower. Most important stuff is home movies and photos, If i lost my tv shows or movie collection its not the end of world. Just PIA. thoughts? I most definitely appreciate all the wisdom! Drives I have now in other machines plex -3tb,2tb,1tb home moives and photos 4tb, This one will be moved to new unraid music 1tb Unraid build -this is what i was planning on 4tb parity 250ssd cache 4tb,,3tb,2tb,1tb was hoping to add a 8tb for xmas or two more 4tb , Edi:t Now thinking of just going with the 2-4tb. Garycase My thought process was that dual parity would hold more data, less chance of loss. Thinking how can that one 4tb parity drive can store all the info to rebuild a drive knowing that all the drive totals are large than 4tb.
  8. I have been looking at red drives came across an 8tb drive for 300. after reading this- https://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=54407.0 . Thinking i should do two 4 tb parity drives , or buy the 8tb drive now then in a few months add the other 8tb drive. Any thought ? or recommendations? Right now i am running 6.1.6 and a basic key. going to upgrade to plus
  9. Looking at this one- Corsair RM550x Power Supply has pfc and the 80plus also say low noise.. Just not sure if 550 is enough i used a psu calculator . 8 drives ,no optical, cpu, ram and listed mb came out with 505watts.
  10. I am ordering it now. I just need to get a power supply now
  11. Why is the R4 case more than the R5? I did find the XL for 99.00. I am leaning towards the R5 Titanium its 69.00. I wanted the white but its out of my budget and wont match anything.lol
  12. @garycase He offered the setup with stock cooler today for 250.00 , What type of case would you recommend , needs holds ten drives, Size of case does not bother me , Would like to be less 150
  13. @garycase I am not sure i fully understand Vt-d ... I am building a server to back up my home movies, photos and plex server. It may replace the existing plex server one day.. I have turned an old dell xps410 into a test server to help me better understand Unraid and functions. I only access that dell unraid over home network using tower in brower, If I understand correctly then using this method i would not need to worry about vt-d. Is that correct? Is there better hardware to use in that price ranges? I am on a tight budget but still need case and psu. Thank you for the input!
