  1. @JustJoshin would you be able to help me with my virtual setup. I have the intel s2600 with the dual xeons from natex but with 64gb of ram and a gtx 1080 . I want to do a Win10 VM and passthru graphics to the gtx1080 along with a usb3.0 hub. Issue I'm running into is how to setup the vmware. I setup the seabios no luck getting it to pass through to work, also setup a vnc monitor to watch it still no luck. Did the same via ovmf. Any suggestions or screenshots or video you could toss over my way would greatly appreciate you. Trying to get this gtx1080 passthru has been kicking my butt for months now.
  2. Anybody tested a 12 port controller card that can do? With my setup I think I'm going to run out slots for drives.
  3. ha thanks. hopefully the case i have will fit everything :-S if not i'll have to pick up a case and power supply well see through
  4. just picked up the 64gb ram 2670 model one along with a gtx1080 and 3 8tb hd's
  5. true thanks. wonder how it would fair with faster connection.
  6. interesting what's your download and upload speeds?
  7. i'm wondering if it would be possible to offload the streams decoding or encoding to a graphics card just thinking about the expense building something on par with a server grade setup vs using kaby lake cpu + in the setup
  8. @tliptalk i think you might need to make a change in your bios i found this on another forum. this is the thread https://forums.servethehome.com/index.php?threads/intel-s2600cp-and-nvidia-gtx-1070-problem.11214/ i'm very interested in seeing how your 1060 works out i want to go with the natex setup with a 1070 or 1080 to do video editing via vm using adobe premiere. i wanted to see how feasible this is any insight you could provide would be awesome
  9. plex would likely come up as two different host. so your system hostname would be one plex server and then your system hostname would be another plex server. i'm thinking if you want plex centralized you would probably need setup crashplan and then select one of unraid system as the main plex host and then use the other possibly as a backup say if one of the plex servers is down. likely want to use which over plex server has the best internet package. hopefully you don't have comcrap with bandwith limits on either if so go with the provider that doesn't have bandwidth limitations. would also be helpful if your service provider has a nice upload speed which will help with transferring files along with streaming files
  10. I'm running into the same issue would love to know if there is a fix or a way around it. I noticed that filebot goes resource crazy with this setup it's destroys my cpu given it's renaming and copying the file to a new location vs renaming and moving.
  11. I read a lot of books, just don't use this. If you're interested in ebooks then take a look at COPS for a brilliant way of browsing your library and emailing books to a kindle. you have a link for COPS? I'd be interested in checking it out http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=51052.0 You need to point /books to the location of your calibre database. Edit the config-local.php file to enable emailing directly to Kindle. We're the official docker install for the application. Seb Lucas the author has done a wonderful job. Best part is Calibre doesn't even need to be running to serve up the library so it's light on resources. oh nice thanks for the details

  13. Yeah, I have two s2600cp2j's each with (2) gt730's (for VMs), and a third s2600cp2j with (1) gtx1080 (win 10 on bare metal). nice so using the gt730's for gaming vm's? I'm wondering if you plan to virtualize your third s2600cp2j with the gtx1080 with unraid my setup goal would be to run possibly two gtx1080's in sli (if possible) for a virtal editing box with adobe premiere how much did your s2600cp2j's run you?
