  1. well the weird thing is, the log doesn't get new entries. just had another disconnect at about 11.58, but none of them seem to show up in the syslog. the last entries are Feb 18 11:04:18 Tower avahi-daemon[2285]: Service "Tower" (/services/smb.service) successfully established. Feb 18 11:32:45 Tower emhttp: read_line: client closed the connection although surely, other things must have happened since (apart from the disconnect)
  2. I'm having the same problem, persistent on 5.6 and now 6b12 (I had hoped that maybe upgrading would fix it). It seems to not show up in the system log. First boot was at 11.04AM, I got disconnected at around 11.22. Reconnection is at about 11.26, and it's been going like this forever. WebGUI as well as shares vanish all of a sudden. This happens every 10 minutes or so. Accessing from a Mac running on OS X Yosemite 10.10.2 (but it happens when I try to rsync from a synology as well, so I doubt it's the client that is acting up, but who knows) I'm attaching the syslog below. I hope someone's got a lead as to what this could be.... much appreciated. 3. oh dear... maybe I should take even a passing glimpse of what I throw into that box. The drive in question was neither a WD, nor 3TB - it's a Seagate 1.5TB. My bad, and sorry for taking up some time and space for my sheer stupiditity Next question is whether to convert some of the other drives to XFS, or not...but i'll read up on that now. Have not been very active in the forum, since everything just works, so I need to catch up on some readin'
  4. it's a drive I had working inside a Synology before, but it never saw the inside of my Unraid machine before 6b12. Here's a screenshot, disk in question is disk 8 (now I'm not so sure it actually is a WD, but I kinda doubt it's the brand of the drive that's causing the issue here. might have to pull it out to be sure though).
  5. Hi forum, I've added drive number 9, a WD 3TB to my array, which recently got upgraded to 6b12. It got formatted in XFS, and strangely only shows up as a 1.5TB drive. It is attached to the Supermicro AOC-SASLP-MV8 8-port controller, might that have something to do with it? Parity is another 3TB drive, which runs fine. Any leads..?
  6. good work! <3 you, unRAID!
  7. thank you, it worked! i'm now booted into 5.0. And although it is a little OT, I'll ask anyway: I reassigned all disks to the correct slots. All disks are blue, however, and it says "Stopped. Initial configuration". I am now a little hesitant whether I should start the array, or not... Any quick advice?
  8. thanks for this! included in the zip is 5.0rc5, can i just invoke "make_bootable_mac" on the mac via terminal, and then copy the latest 5.0 release over to the stick? EDIT: ok, I hope I'm getting this right - I copied 5.0 to the stick, and also copied make_bootable_mac - now I invoke it from the terminal... correct? Sorry if i'm asking dumb questions...
  9. me too...any update on the OSX / make bootable situation would be much appreciated. As it is, I can't boot my upgraded 5.0 unraid, it's stuck at syslinux screen
  10. just realized it needs to be horizontal, which clearly, that one is not. here's another try (pngs turned out to be >200KB, so i'll try jpg)
  11. try writing an email to Adobe and expect a personal reply about why the new version of product x isn't out yet. It ain't gonna happen. Maybe if people stopped emailing and begging for new versions, Tom could concentrate on actual coding. unRAID is a well-functioning product, and I really don't understand the hangups about a new version not being released in the timeframe one has imagined. Seriously people...
  12. a Core i7 2600K is overkill many times over, you're fine using just a low-power, low-cost CPU, like an AMD Sempron for $30 or so. unRAID doesn't require fancy hardware. Check Rajahal's prototype builds for ideas, or working builds here in the forum. Have fun building!
