  1. Hi, By the way I think I solved this. I might just not be that smart. I think I ended up having an intermittent ram slot failure which lead to a host of problems that I could not sort out. Including not booting from the USB.
  2. Squid, I swear I did purchase an upgraded key at one point. That's part of my confusion. I wonder if I purchased it and never actually upgraded it. Would that be my only issue here? I can unplug a few drives I guess to get it to boot.
  3. nottower-syslog-20220306-2106.zipHi, I'm just booting this server up after a quite a while and finally got it booted on a physically different USB, but with the data copied. It instructed me how to replace a key, but it wont install. I'm getting ERROR (5). I'm not sure what to do. I checked a couple other posts that mentioned the date and time being off, but mine seems to be correct?
  4. Thanks for getting back to me. Maybe I should just keep running this one until I can save up enough for the threadripper system.
  5. Hello! So I currently have an unRaid server built but I would like to upgrade a little bit. Its kinda an all for one build for me. I would like it to be able to be able to do the following: -Plex, one user -Occasional small game server -NAS -Back up for a few home PCs Current Build: i7 950 32GB RAM non ECC memory 20TB My current CPUs I have laying around 2x E5620 2x X5550 2x X5667 FX 8320 FX 9370 I would like to use a pair of the xeons I have laying around since I have 64gb of DDR3 ECC RAM I could pair it with. Another option would be to sell all of the above and buy CPU/Mobo/Ram that would suit me better. What do you guys think? I would like to stay in the ATX form factor since that fits my current case.
  6. Just wanted to reply and let everyone know that something in the SMB reset had fixed it. No idea what it was but now it works. Thanks!
  7. I also looked, I had SMB 1.0 enabled. All three checkboxes. I even tried disabling it, with no luck. I would book a tech support appointment, but I would have to take a day off work
  8. I'm looking into this. Another thing I noticed, which is annoying that if I type the IP address of the server into a file explorer, it just opens a web browser to that address?
  9. Ok I tried to run the LANScan, and it won't run I get the following error "System error 1231 has occurred. The network location cannot be reached. For information about network troubleshooting, see Windows Help" So I am trying to figure that out. In the meantime I have been trying to go through that thread. I have also attached a diagnostic file to this for future info. Manually mapping the drive still does not work. I believe I am a little over my head. Now it doesn't show up on the computer I didn't have issues with before. I believe the server is public on my network in my house. I am trying to find it just through file explorer or mapping it as a network location. My PC Info: Windows 10 Pro Version 1709 OS Build 16299.309 nottower-diagnostics-20180402-1914.zip
  10. Thanks for the reply! I'll keep digging and report back. I did have some success with the issue computer being able to see the Web UI. I used the reserve IP address function in my router. Something I didn't really think of. That got me somewhere at least.
  11. Hi, I know there are a lot of topics on this, but I feel like I've been through all I can find. I still can't find a solution. One computer is giving me headaches. The other computers can access everything just fine except this one now. I used to be able to access it with no troubles, but now I can't even access the Web GUI. I had some trouble with the PC a few weeks ago, where the I couldn't access the internet from my ethernet port. I have since figured this out, somehow. I had to reset everything pertaining to the ethernet settings. Now I notice that it says my wifi network name on my ethernet info. It didn't use to say this. I can even see that there is a Plex Media device on my network, which is my server. I can't seem to map my drives no matter what I do. I can't manually map, or browse the NAS in the file explorer. I can't find the web gui using the IP address or the server name I do have the local master plugin on the server I'm frustrated, can anyone point me in the right direction? I have tried these just today: https://lime-technology.com/forums/topic/7857-first-time-user-cant-access-web-gui/ https://lime-technology.com/forums/topic/23536-cant-access-unraid-server-from-1-pc-on-network/ https://lime-technology.com/forums/topic/17082-solved-no-web-interface-available/ https://lime-technology.com/forums/topic/68193-windows-10-does-not-see-unraid-server-in-network-browse/
  12. I went to that thread, which immediately leads me to this here. It only really said to do the SMB edit. Which I did and it didn't solve anything. I am going to go through it a little more thoroughly now though to see if there is anything I missed. Thanks! I have edited my original post with the full diagnostic download.
  13. So when I try to map the server manually using \\tower\users, I get "Access Denied". I followed a stickied thread, Here which lead me to adding "ntlm auth = yes" to the SMB extra configuration and that didn't seem to do anything.
  14. For some reason, I am having trouble accessing my server. I cannot find it in the Network in Windows 10. I have tried this trick here: HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanmanWorkstation\Parameters\AllowInsecureGuestAuth With no avail. I had set up that was working, but I upgraded disks and just removed everything from it. Is there any way to reset everything? The disks are supposedly formatted and ready. tower-syslog-20170402-2118.zip tower-diagnostics-20170403-2129.zip I would like to note, that the server was up and running before, but I upgraded disks. It was originally just set up to try unraid and see if I liked it. So now that I have decided I like it, I went through and cleared out the shares and created new ones. Now I can't seem to map to them.
