  1. Thanks for the tip. I tried that and got the same error. I also tried to go through their full PDF and follow the step by step process but got stuck on Step 1 when trying to make the shortcut - Get the same error "network path not available." It seems like my company has locked down samba access outside of their domain. Oh well, I was mostly trying to do this as a convenience thing anyways.
  2. My Unraid server, personal desktop, and work laptop are all connected to my home network. The server and my desktop are part of the "WORKGROUP" workgroup. My work laptop is part of my work's domain (xx.companyname.com). I can access the Unraid shares from my desktop with no issues by opening up TOWER under Network on the left side of file explorer or by mapping a network drive. On my work laptop, I can see TOWER under Network, but I'm unable to access anything, basically saying the network path is not available whenever I try to open TOWER. Things I've tried: Made an Unraid user with same login name and password as my work laptop Made an Unraid user with completely different name/password as work laptop (and tried accessing via checking "Use different credentials" Enabled insecure logins in Windows Cleared all Windows Credentials for TOWER multiple times It's weird that I can see TOWER in explorer but it won't let me access it. Also, I can access the server GUI in a web browser no problem. Anyone know why I'm unable to access my server from my work laptop? Is it because I'm not in the workgroup of the server? Work laptop is Windows 10 Enterprise, build 19044. Desktop is Windows 10 Professional, build 19043
  3. I'm following Space Invader's guide on setting up Shinobi. I have a TP-Link TL-SG105PE 5 port managed POE switch installed between my router/modem combo and my Unraid server. I have one PoE camera connected to that switch. I enabled VLAN on the switch (VLAN #1), added the VLAN in Unraid network settings, enabled it in Docker settings, but when the VLAN doesn't show up in the Network Type field in the Docker config. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Network Settings: Config:
  4. Setup: Unraid 6.8 “incomplete” share - where SAB downloads the files to “downloads” share - where SAB puts completed files Sonarr looks in the Sonarr folder within the “downloads” share and moves completed shows to my “TV” share (on the array) I recently changed my “incomplete” and “downloads” share from cache prefer to cache-yes. Now whenever the Mover runs I get a “failed making” error. If I reset the SABnzbd container everything will work fine until the Mover runs again. Has anyone run into this before? Imgur album link below shows my setup for SAB/Sonarr. https://imgur.com/gallery/useJwbE
  5. Thanks for the help, trurl. I followed your instructions and everything is working great now. For other people that may stumble upon this post, the above directions are what you need to do, but there were some quirks that took me a while to figure out. I'll just type out what I did step by step: Installed and mounted cache drive Went to Shares and set my "appdata" cache setting to Prefer. I don't remember now, but I believe that you need to stop the server array before you can do this. Went to Settings > Scheduler and clicked Move Now. Also set the mover to run every hour so the cache drive wouldn't fill up with movies/TV shows. It took a little while to transfer the ~8GB of data to be moved over to the cache drive. Turned off all my dockers (not sure if you actually need to do this), then went into the settings of each one (click the name, not the icon), clicked "Show advanced settings..." on the bottom, and changed the AppData Config Path to the cache drive. I think you need to toggle "Basic View" to "Advanced View" in the upper right corner to be able to change the path. Note: when you are editing the path, you need to make sure the "Host Path" and "Default Path" are pointing to the same cache path or else it won't change it. Example: my Plex path used to be "/mnt/user/appdata/PlexMediaServer" and I changed that to "/mnt/cache/appdata/PlexMediaServer/" in both the "Host Path" and "Default Path" fields. Apply and Save. Do this for all dockers. Changed all the "Downloads" and "Incomplete Downloads" for SABnzbd, Sonarr, and CouchPotato to "/mnt/cache/Downloads/". When I ran the Mover, it essentially copied the same folder directory structure to my cache drive, so you should be able to easily navigate to whatever path you had before, but this time just make sure it is on the cache drive. That's it. You shouldn't have to change any settings inside your actual docker programs.
  6. I use unRAID as a Plex/Sonarr/Couchpotato/SABnzbd machine and have all the dockers set up and running great. I've physically installed a 500GB SSD for a cache drive, but need to figure out how to add it correctly to the server. I want SABzbd to download and unpack files on it to increase the unpack speed compared to a regular HDD. I also want Plex to use it to make the response a bit snappier when I'm using Plex. I know I have to change the directories these Dockers point to, but I'm not sure how to do that without messing everything up. Does anyone have any tips? Thanks in advance
  7. Is there any way to increase the speed at which SABnzbd unpacks completed downloads? Right now SABnzbd downloads everything directly to my array (I don't have a cache disk yet) and I'm just impatient and want everything to go faster . I have a 256GB SSD coming in the mail to add as a cache disk. If I have SABnzbd download the files to that and then transfer them to the array, will that increase the speed?
  8. My new server has two 8TB HDDs - one for parity and one for data. I just got it setup and am running a parity sync right now, as that's what the Getting Started video told me to do. Do I have to wait for it to finish before I can start transferring all my data over (using Teracopy) from my Windows machine? Or can I just get started moving files over? Also, I've read some things about "pre-clearing" a drive? Do I have to do that? If so, can I do it while this parity sync is running?
  9. I tried pretty much every USB 2.0 port on my computer. Didn't bother trying the USB 3.0 ports because I figured there were too many things that could go wrong using it.
  10. I posted this in a post about having trouble with my USB drive, but the fix for the USB drive problem also fixed my network problems: "Thanks for the suggestions, guys. I've been messing around with it, as unplugging and reinserting the flash drive didn't seem to do anything. It turns out, my motherboard (Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3P) has two obscure bios settings: IOMMU Controller and EHCI Handoff that are disabled by default, with no description as to what they are for. Anyways, I enabled both of them and now I have no problems booting up repeatedly. In fact, once I enabled those two settings, all of my networking problems went away as well! I booted up and the internet was working and I could ping everything on my network. Crazy what a couple random settings in the BIOS can do. Thanks all for the help."

  12. Also, when I force the machine to boot to the USB drive, I get the same error message.
  13. I'm trying to get my unRAID server set up. I make the unRAID flash drive, put it in the unRAID machine (BIOS is configured correctly) and have no problem booting into unRAID. However, whenever I reboot my machine (usually by going to "Main" > Reboot), I am unable to boot back into unRAID. My computer gives me the "Missing operating system. Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key" error. Nothing has changed in my BIOS and I didn't touch anything on the flash drive. When I reformat the drive and do everything all over again, I have no problem booting into it the first time. But after every reboot I am unable to boot into unRAID. I followed the directions on how to create the bootable USB drive - 1. Format in FAT32 and call the drive UNRAID 2. Copy all the files/folders from the zipped file over 3. Right click and run "make bootable" file as administrator 4. Right click > eject flash drive 5. Insert into unRAID machine. I even used a Lime Tech approved USB device. I've had nothing but problems so far trying to get this setup.
  14. When the IP address/DNS configuration is set to Automatic, these are the settings along with what "ifconfig" shows: I don't know much about IP address/networking stuff, but the IP address it gives when set on automatic almost seems like an external IP address. When it is set like this, I can't ping www.google.com in the terminal and I can't connect to any websites in the browser. My default gateway for my home network is 192.168.1.1, so obviously I can't access the server from the other computers on my network. Also, when I do an "ipconfig" from the Windows machines on my network, it says the Network mask is 255.255.255.0, not 255.255.0.0 like unRAID gives in auto configuration. I tried to set the IP settings manually, and you can see what I input and get with "ifconfig" here: Same problems as before, can't ping any outside websites, can't visit any websites on the browser, and when I try to ping the unRAID server (at 192.168.1.24) from the other machines on my network, I get a host unreachable error. I also can't ping any machines from the unRAID server itself. I've been messing with this for the past two days and am at my wits end. Does anyone have any idea how to get this fixed?
