  1. Upgraded from rc3 to rc4 and VM's now not loading. Moved back to rc3 and issue disappears. Let me know if there are any othert tests I can do. 2. Dropped you a PM with the info (worried I am going off topic in your thread) .
  3. What do you mean by "keep track"? You mean with the hardware reporting, also gather info on the filesystem in use? I suppose we could do that... Yes, sorry for lack of clarity I actually think that the KVM site may be outdated on that recommendation for not using btrfs. I only use Btrfs for my VMs right now... Explain please... So, I am currently running my dockers and xbmcbuntu VM on my cache drive. I am not running a seperate sql db but using the xbmcbuntu VM library for my tv series and movies. Whenever i run a library refresh or it updates at start the VM playback stutters and skips. This occasionally also happens when the plex docker is refreshing (although I have now deleted this docker as I am getting comfortable with xbmc). Other than that I have had no issues and the playback is perfect for full blu-ray rips and the flirc passthrough works perfectly.
  4. Plan sounds good. Could I also ask you to keep track of the type of filesystem people are running the VM off. I noticed on a KVM site that you shouldn't be running VM's of btrfs (which I am currently doing) as I am also using docker. I think this is causing issues when updating the library and playing video in xbmcbuntu (so openelec should be similar...)
  5. Thanks. Have dropped a response to your PM. I hope it helps. Will shout if the extra drive makes a difference to performance of the VM (And may borrow a friends SSD to see it that has an impact as well rather than running two drives..)
  6. Thanks.. Will try an additional drive outside the VM this weekend and test (a bit lazy to drag out the spare drive from the garage this evening). Thanks for the advice on the media scraper. I come from a plex background so XBMC is a bit of a shift....
  7. HD6450. I gave up on iGPU. My setup is in one of the previous threads :
  8. Hi So I have had my xbmcbuntu up and running smoothly for the past month with GPU and USB (for my FLIRC) passthrough. However I have some questions and suspect this would apply to any VM: [*]Currently video playback lags when scraping for media info or rescanning folders. Is there anyway around this? I have 4 cpu's allocated with 3GB of RAM to the VM [*]Currently my VM is running of my cache drive with is also used by sabnzbd and transmission to download files to. Do you think this could be impacting the item above and will replacing it with a SSD make a difference? Thanks
  9. Happy to try to help out. Mobo : ASRock Z87E-ITX CPU : i7-4770T RAM : 2 x Crucial 8GB DDR3-1600 (BLS8G3D1609ES2LX0) PSU : Silverstone Tek Strider Series ATX12V/EPS12V 550W Graphics Card: Radeon HD6450 Currently have XBMCbuntu running in VM with USB passthrough of Flirc for remote control and USB Blu-ray player (the player connection drops after an hour of play or so). Have tried Debian (but have resolution issues). Ubuntu ran fine but PHT (plex home theater) was slow and crashed occasionally. Would love to get PHT up (on a linux build) and running instead of XBMCbuntu. PHT then can connect to the PMS docker Also would like to try to get iGPU working.
  10. Does it have the marvell sata controller? If so, try booting in Xen and add the pci hide back command and see if it works. You can refer to my post about it which has marvell in the title (on my phone so not quick to add the link)
  11. Not sure if anyone else is having similar issues. I have my cache drive connected to a pci sata card which has a marvell 88SE91xx controller. In beta5a - using normal boot the PC would detect my cache drive . Using Xen boot it would not see the drive. I used the pci- phantom in the syslinux.cfg to resolve (see http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=33511.0). In beta6 - the Xen boot is working fine but now when I try the normal boot (which is also KVM), it doesn't see the drive again. Extract from syslog: Jun 22 12:51:28 suleimant kernel: ata7: SATA link up 3.0 Gbps (SStatus 123 SControl 300) Jun 22 12:51:28 suleimant kernel: dmar: DRHD: handling fault status reg 3 Jun 22 12:51:28 suleimant kernel: dmar: DMAR:[DMA Read] Request device [01:00.1] fault addr fffe0000 Jun 22 12:51:28 suleimant kernel: DMAR:[fault reason 02] Present bit in context entry is clear Not sure if this is easy to resolve in KVM or not? Google seems less helpfully hen when I had the issue with Xen. I am busy waiting for delivery of a new pci sata card with a different controller but figured this could affect a few other users when in production.
  12. Need some assistance. How do you go about setting up xbmcbuntu in its own DomU under unraid6. I tried botting with the downloaded iso and then it gets stuck "no medium live filesystem" or something like that. I want to use this to play directly to my TV via my amp (I figured out the pci passthrough bit).
