  1. i just checked this thread as i wasnt able to connect to the webui also. tried the old files i had kicking around, none of them worked. tried turning the strict port forward off and it wasnt working. logged in to the PIA website and redownloaded the opvn file. on the top now, there is the option to select "CURRENT" and "NEXTGEN". adding the new "current" file in the directory, it would start with the port forward off. but not with it ON. the "nextgen" server wouldnt open webui with the port forward on or off. i only tried the canada/ontario server. hope this helps someone.
  2. Tnx dude this worked... now to turn off the autoupdate settings....
  3. yeah, im with you. definitely not worth it. like i said i'll scrape another sata drive for my testing. the mobo does have 2 more sata ports but even if they dont work. i have a pci card for sata ports. and i somehow have two of these mobo's lying around. i think they were on sale or something back in the day lol. thank you for your time Rob. much appriciated.
  4. yeah everything is old lol. i just scraped what i had around to try and make newznab work on 6.x before switching my main setup. mobo does have the latest bios on it, as i already checked that myself. i tried 6.1.12 and also didnt work. noticed i had one of the older 6.x version lying around in my downloads folders, so i tried that also. but any 6.x version is missing the ide drives. v5.0.6 still shows them without issues. i tossed in the two syslogs below. i think if nothing else. i have another 36GB old raptor hard drive kicking around. i may be able to use that for a data disk and do some tests without too many issues. syslog-5.0.6.txt syslog-6.0.beta14.txt
  5. i put together an test server with some older hardware before switching my actual server to V6. the old mobo is an asrock 939 dual-sata2 with an amd x3800 processor. after some network issues, i got a NIC card and had v5 working just fine. so i figured i bump it up to the latest and try to setup newznab on v6. the whole point of this test server. but when i boot up to v6.1.3 my ide drives are missing from the assign screen. i upgraded with a format and a clean install, except my *cfg files. drives show up in the bios and the old V5. tried the slave ide slot, no success either. ideas? newznab-diagnostics-20151004-1207.zip newznab-diagnostics-20151004-1145.zip newznab-diagnostics-20151004-1136.zip
  6. It was a corrupt newznab database in my case. Had to go back 2-3 months from my backups until it ran stable again. Now I'm not updating anything that has to do with the dynamix stuff and I'm good for the last month or so. Making daily backups of the database. As a safety.
  7. Tnx Joe as usual i've seen the warnings and saw those errors, so i kinda figured thats what was hapenning. and i think it did all start with the latest newznab svn update... if i only knew how to go back. i'm looking t the 6 beta... but with all this talk about virtualization, i am lost... i think i need to read up on it a bit first... before switching.
  8. Running 5.0.5 along with the usual plugins (sab,sb and newznab) for years here, without issues. two weeks ago i received a kernel panic alarm with unraid crashing instantly. after several restarts i have narrowed it down to newznab being the culprit. if i execute the update scripts, it runs for a bit and goes haywire with the telnet session being killed and unraid coming up with kernel panic alarm. finally figured out how to tail the log and record what was happening. i have backups of everything going months/years back. but not sure what to restore. tried some of the files on the flash dive, without success. if i leave newznab update scripts off, there are no issues. ive searched the forums and kernel panic seems to be related to drives and memory.. i did the memtest overnight, without any errors. my monthly parity check also completed without issues, while newznab is off. here is the syslog, hopefully someone sees something that i am missing. http://pastebin.com/raw.php?i=rBuW6WKC kernel panic happens from Oct 11 14:44:55 in the syslog above
  9. Awesome. Those two are no problem. It's the others I was all worried about, for no reason apparently. Tnx guys. I'll play with it when I get back home. Tapatalk on Samsung GS3
  10. I do have a cache drive and you're right it is the smallest with 500GB. The parity drive is the biggest 4TB. So those two I know for sure. The other 5 are all less than 4TB. I can't recall anymore which spots they were in however and I just left it at that and shut her down. And does it really matter? Do I have to reassign the drives to their exact old positions or would it be OK if old drive 1 ends up being drive 3 now? Tapatalk on Samsung GS3
  11. lasted for a month and i received a disabled disk yesterday again. ran the reiserchk again and got a new hard drive anyways. installed the new drive in and started to preclear it while rebuilding the old drive after the reiserchk -rebuild tree completed all was going well and then dumbass me somehow did a hard reset by accident on the tower. after few tries and wiping the usb stick i managed to get it back up, but none of the drives were assigned and i managed not to save a picture of the slots, except probably on the server itself. so i dont remember where which drive went. i have backups of the usb going back a few years. but going back to the last one, i was still not getting it to boot properly. so i've left it for the night. is there a quick way to get the drives to lock in their original position? or will going to an older backup for the drive work fine? i never did start the array, since i didnt know where the drives belong. so i dont think i damaged anything. but a suggestion would help save some time...
  12. CP, SB or sab do not use the Web server. So that doesn't mean you're not having issues with the php. But more likely you're having issues with the renaming rules for the webserver. There's a file in the config/plugins/simple features folder that you need to modify to access different ports for each thing on the Web server. For example, I have newznab, spotweb, phpadmin, sqldumper, owncloud all running off the webserver. So for each one you have to adjust the renaming rules so they load properly. If you can't find it I can attach mine when I get back home. For me spotweb wasn't worth it and I don't even bother using it anymore. Newznab is miles better, but a lot more work to configure properly Tapatalk on Samsung GS3
  13. You could always telnet into unraid and execute the copy command to copy the syslog to the flash drive before shutting down. I don't remember it off hand, but it's in the wiki, how to do the exact thing. Additionally, when mine ever hangs, I always telnet and execute the "powerdown" command. Which will shut it down after closing and syncing everything as if it would when doing it with the Web Gui. Powerdown script is installed with dynamix, but it's also available as it's own standalone plugin Tapatalk on Samsung GS3
  14. when struggling to boot, i've been told to backup the usb drive, format it (must be long way, ensure "quick format" is checked off), copy fresh unraid install over, copy all your settings files. basically all folders that you backed up. and i mean only folders and files inside folders, the top files in the flash you get with a fresh install. make the stick bootable and try again.
