  1. Hi, starting from the first beta of version 6.9.0 i can no longer pass my integrated gpu to a windows10 vm. the vm shows as started and the screen goes black (it's on the main display so it shows the unraid startup logs first) but no windows 10 logo appears. also the vm is not accessible via remote desktop. in addition the first core assigned to the vm (i assigned cores 2 and 3) stays at 100% until i have to force stop the vm i was using i440fx-4.2. with unraid 6.9.0 i also tried Q35 (both old and new versions) and had no luck starting the vm with video output also attaching diagnostics, the 2 windows vm are the original vm and the clone i tried with Q35 Thank you storage-00-diagnostics-20200823-1756.zip
  2. Hi, is there a solution to this issue yet? i have the same problem: iGpu vm stays with black screen, if i switch to VNC the vm works also tried creating a new vm with newer i440fx version and still have the same issue Thank you
  3. Thank you for the reply, I tested with UEFI boot off, and that solved the issue, with UEFI back on and video=efifb:off, i have no video output after grub (i suppose it's that parameter) but the vm works fine, no errors in log thank you all again for the help
  4. Hi, i just updated today to 6.4 and i'm having problems with my windows vm when i start it it keeps spamming this error Jan 14 17:35:54 Server kernel: vfio-pci 0000:00:02.0: BAR 2: can't reserve [mem 0xc0000000-0xcfffffff 64bit pref] to the console, until it fills the log folder. it's a windows 10 vm with igpu passthrough, and the device mentioned in the log seems to be the intel gpu. does anyone know how that can be solved? thank you server-diagnostics-20180114-1740.zip
  5. i will add 16gb, so i'll have a total of 24gb. my only concerns are about the cpu and if will be able to handle all that usage
  6. thanks i don't plan to do more than 1 hd stream during gaming, as i am the only one that use plex a lot, and my media files are all mkv already optimized for tv or i plan to run transcoder during night i will add 16gb of ram, but i already have the i5 so i am not going to buy an i7
  7. Hi, i am going to make a nas + vms from my current gaming system current specs are: i5-4690k ga-z97x-ud3h 8gb ddr3 ram (will add 2x8 more if this can work) gtx570 (will upgrade to 1060 soon) 120gb cache ssh and 250 gb ssd for vms other hdd for array (my question is not about array so i skip details) what i want to do is get rid of my old nas (pentium dual core and 2 gb ram) which runs unraid and provides: -nas access to my files -plex docker -crashplan docker -deluge docker what i want to do is transfer all into my main system (the one listed above) and: run all my dockers: deluge will run only during night and we use plex on max 1/2 1080p tv at a time run a windows 10 gaming vm with the gtx 1060 that still have to buy run a secondary vm for only chrome usage with integrated gpu passthroug (will come out in the next beta) i already have the 2 monitors for the 2 vms and an old gpu for unraid console (so that i can pass the igpu to the second vm) i would like to do so as i will save energy, as my desktop is on all day, and i would get rid of 2 pcs (the current nas and the other old crappy pc that would be replaced by the secondary vm) my only question is: will my 4690K be able to handle that? will i lose a lot of performance in gaming? i think that the 2 vms will rarely be used together, and we don't use plex a lot, but again, will my system be able to run all that? i have only tested once with my gtx570 but with only 8gb of ram i won't be able to test a lot.
  8. hi, have you been able to install unraid and the vms? cause i have the same cpu and i want to make a nas from my main pc, but my only concern is if the cpu can handle all that stress (i want to build a gaming vm and use some dockers, like plex torrent and others) also i would like to build a second windows 10 vm for other people in the house (only for chrome and word, no gaming) do you (and others on the community) think my cpu can handle that? thanks
  9. same problem with gt230 works fine with 6.1.9, don't work on 6.2 but my gtx570 works only with 6.2 and not with 6.1.9 have a post about that, i will just wait the next beta to use the igpu instead of the 230
  10. thanks for the advice, i tried for the last week and i think i will wait for the next beta that should include the ability to pass the igpu to a vm (so i will also have ovmf boot instead of seabios)
  11. hi archedraft, is it possible that i see 4 usb controllers on a gigabyte ga-z97x-ud3h, but when i try all the usb ports, lsusb says that my usb device is on controller 003 all the times? 12. Anyone?? I tried to rollback to 6.1.9 and i nave these results: Gtx570 VM works same as before Gt230 VM works but after some reboots makes the server crash and I have to hard reset it Also of I try to stop the VM from windows, when I try to restart it, the server will hang, I have to stop the VM from the server webui but, as said before, sometimes it will hang anyway
