Well, not sure what it was but I switched to a new USB Flash Drive (SanDisk Cruzer Glide) by requesting the replacement via the web interface in unRAID and now it works/boots/restarts perfectly every time. Much faster boot as well...so something must have been up with my previous thumb drive.

Greetings all. I recently got my 2nd unRAID build all setup. The only issue I have is that after each powerdown/restart (when using the motherboards onboard USB inside the case) unRAID does not boot up, it boots to EFI shell mode. At that point, I restart and then when I go into the BIOS/BOOT settings my removable USB stick is not listed as a bootup device (it simply lists "Removable Disk") and the only way I can get it to be recognized again from the onboard USB connection is to remove the drive and then reinsert the drive and boot back up. It then boots to unRAID perfectly. I do not have this problem when I use the external USB connection on the outside of my case (Norco 4224) and plug my uNRAID USB stick in there. It ALWAYS boots up fine, from restarts or complete power downs. Do I have something set wrong in BIOS (I've went through everything and cannot see anyhting "wrong" and I have reset to default numerous times as well - to start from scratch)? Is my USB stick no good? (think this is doubtful since it works perfectly from the USB connector on the Norco case) Could it be my motherboard/on board USB connector? OS: uNRAID 6.1 Case: Norco 4224 MoBo: Supermicro X10SL7-F-O USB Thumb Drive: Silicon Power 16GB Blaze B30 USB 3.0 Swivel Flash Drive Thanks for any/all help you might provide!

Are there or should there be any LED's/Lights on the RES2SV240 itself, when connected? I purchased a new one off a member here on the forum and cannot get it to recognize any of my drives when connected through an IT FLASHED (or non flashed for that matter) IBM M1015. When powered up/connected to my Supermicro motherboard, there are no lights/LEDs that I can see...and again, no drives show up. The RES2SV240 is warm/hot to the touch...but I cannot see anything attached to it. Also, nothing shows up in BIOS or during boot indicating the card is connected to the system. I have tried powering it via PCI connection and also via Molex/4-pin power cable (directly to Power Supply) also = same results (nothing). Thanks for any help...

Greetings all! As the thread title says...up until about a year ago, I was the owner/user of a Norco 4224 unRAID server. I sold off 90% of my build, and purchased a Synology 1815+. The Synology is great...and very easy to use...and has a ton of useful features that my whole family uses (Photo Station, Surveillance Station, etc.). I have filled up the Synology 1815+ w/ 8x WD 6TB REDS and have even added an extension to it (Synology DX513) and already have 2X WD 6TB REDS in it. That leaves me with just 3 open bays... I'm now wanting to give unRAID 6 a try. I would keep my Synology 1815+/DX513 and add a Norco 4224. Sorry if this has been answered before (or perhaps common knowledge here)...but does using/utilizing this script keep shared network drives from hibernating? I have a Synology NAS and need to be able to have the disks hibernate when not in use but if this script wakes them each time it runs then I may have to look elsewhere. Thanks.

Again, these are NO LONGER FOR SALE... Thanks for the lively discussion though BTW, 100% feedback on ebay (username: mdbunting) for the last 16 years...definitely not trying to screw anyone over here on the unRAID forum. I used to be (have no idea if it is still tracked or not) a MASTER TRADER on the HTF (Home Theater Forum) but have not really frequented them in several years. I'm a US Military enlisted member (Air Force) with 19+ years served (stationed in Korea currently) and my unRAID server was built in 2011 using money received from a deployment to Afghanistan after returning home to Germany. I used the drives in my uNRAID server...and I completely parted out my unRAID server (trying to downsize things a bit and get ready for retirement from the military)...therefore I listed them on the uNRAID "Buy/Sell/Trade" section of the forum. Should I have taken the time to save a SMART report for these drives? Probably. Would it have brought me $5-$10 more per drive if I did? Probably. None of the drives I have sold on here included SMART reports, and they still sold. The price I posted for these 3 drives was fair and the sale conditions posted were just as fair (no returns). Also, I trashed 3 drives from my sever because they were problematic (2 Hitachi's (2TB) and 1 Seagate (4TB)) and did not offer them up for sale here on the forum because I didn't want someone to get a bad drive. I've also accepted lower prices on the items I have sold here when asked by unRAID forum members...I've even matched ebay prices...and shipped to Canada... all things I wasn't originaly going to do when I listed them for sale. Anyway, sorry if I ruffled any feathers here...I honestly tried for the better part of one Saturday to get SMART reports using several programs/apps and my two available computers (Mac mini and Sony VAIO AIO) and was unable to do so. I'm going to take Gary's advice (when I get the time) to download WD's Data Lifeguard software to see if that will work...

Thanks all. Not going to offer these up for sale after all....don't want to mess with a return policy/shipping...its really not worth it for these drives. They may end up on ebay, but with ebay/paypal fees its not really worth it either - thanks again!

Thanks Gary...unfortuantely, I have no way of getting the SMART reports....only computers I have running right now are a 2012 mac mini and a 2009 Sony VAIO All-In-One...I tried connecting the drives via a USB 3.0 Dock....but I cannot find anything that will give me the SMART reports (I guess because the USB docks are not supported?) I am only able to get them to say "PASSED" on the Disk Utility for mac os x (when connected to the USB dock)...unless anyone happens to know a way I can get the reports (short of building a brand new system...which I am not going to do BTW) there will be no SMART reports.....many thanks! I'll throw em' on ebay sometime this week.....
