hasole
Hi is it ok to run 10 hard drives off one single modular plug? can't find any definitive specs this is for my ax650 Quote Link to comment
garycase
Assuming the power cables are at least AWG16 wire, they should easily be able to handle the load for 10 drives, especially if they're modern lower-power drives (NAS units or "green" drives). Personally I've never connected more than 8 to a single output line from the PSU, but that's just because I didn't need to. But I tend to err on the side of caution ... I'd be inclined to split the load between two modular runs, just to be sure the internal distribution of load in the PSU is a bit more balanced. Quote Link to comment
hasole
Thanks, i'm thinking along the same lines. The unit has space for 5 modular plugs. came with 2x sata and 2x molex leads with 4 connectors on each Quote Link to comment
