In fact, I gotta give props to the plex team because they actually hired the guy who created rarflix (a fan favorite free 3rd party plex app on roku) and he is now developing the new roku interface Quote Link to comment

00b5 Posted September 10, 2015 Share Posted September 10, 2015 I think the IOS plex app is now free, and you pay $5 inside it to activate it to make it useable to watch videos. If you had bought the app before from the app store, there is a button to "restore purchase" (probably also applies if you paid the one time $5 before). Now, the issue with this, is that IOS also allows you to setup family sharing for apps, so that you buy it once, and everyone can install it (so angry birds is $1, but you don't have to pay on your phone/pad/wifes phone/etc). So, I don't think it "activates" right if the person had never bought it before, so I went to install it on my wifes iphone and it wanted me to pay $5 to use it. Ummm no, i gave you my $5 already once, i'm not paying you for every single device I might want to use it on. You can get around all of this by just paying for plexpass....... Seems like they are fine tuning their money grab, but this particular attempt just pissed me off. Since I only care about IOS support, i've switched to using airvideoHD for my phone.
