<SOLVED>No GPU passthrough 1050ti on i7 950 evga x58 sli le mobo.

I just updated the bios and while VM's are working fine gpu passthrough is not and I'm at a loss as to what I need to enable or if I just need to get a different mobo/cpu combo. Please see if there's anything here that can help. It'd be a pity to let that computer in my closet sit there with a unused 1050ti. =(

Iommu is disabled, so you will not be able to pass through devices to VM's, except USB.

I didn't find anything about support of vt-d for you motherboard. The cpu must also support it,  but knowing it's just an i7 is not enough info.

Wish I could plus 1 you.  ;D I ended up having to buy a mobo+cpu+memory combo and it worked. Still had to make sure I had primary display set to IGPU. Working great now except for some issues where if it's not connected to a monitor my framerates drop dramatically. As long as I keep my monitor connected and plugged in (Not On) it works. GPU scaling is killing me though. Steam streaming starts up in 1280x720 and I had to set a custom resolution and enable gpu scaling to allow 1080p through streaming. It's probably due to the monitor that's attached being 1280x1024.

 

 

A couple of questions:

 

1. How do I clone my machine short of just copying the img file in cmd line? Snapshots?

 

2. On my main machine in hyperv it seems to manage and share memory between vms better. Is there a way to allocate memory where it can be shared across vms like hyper-v or should I just run a hyper-v server in another vm and distribute memory to it so it can handle it?
