  1. Hi Squid! After a lot of attempting to restore from an old backup i ended up creating a brand new folder within the appdata folder and it started working fine. Many thanks for your help as always. Kind regards
  2. Hi, I am having a problem where Sonarr web GUI won't actually load... I am using Unraid 6.3.3 and Sonarr worked perfectly until recently, possibly since i did an update for it... The problem is that when i select WebGUI it just gets stuck at the loading screen with 4 dots moving left and right across the screen and the words Sonarr Ver. at the bottom. Unfortunately as i cant load the actual software i cant tell you the exact version, but i can still access the Unraid Log, where it says this in red; Error] DownloadDecisionMaker: Couldn't process release. [v2.0.0.4753] System.Data.SQLite.SQLiteException (0x80004005): SQL logic error or missing database Can anyone help me with pointing me in the right direction with this? I have also contacted Sonarr forum but i thought i would try here as well. Many thanks
  3. Okay so I've done what you've suggested, put exactly 192.168.1.0/24 into the box and nothing seemed to change, the web gui still worked but no Dockers... Until... I tried my plex media server and it worked! Looked at the settings of that compared to the others and the difference to that docker is it has network type as host and privilege as on. Others are on network type bridge and privilege off! Tried changing the Dockers that didn't work to network type host and it works!! So my question is now, why? And should those settings actually be on host and privilege on (changing the privilege didn't do anything by the way)? As much as I'm pleased it's now working and I want it to work I don't want to sacrifice any security issues further on down the line. Can you shed any light on this? thanks so much for helping!
  4. Yep. So i always used my unraidip:8383 (the port its been assigned in the docker settings) and its always worked. I just changed my VPN settings on my openvpn settings to what you said; Should VPN clients have access to private subnets (non-public networks on the server side)? Yes, using NAT Specify the private subnets to which all clients should be given access (as 'network/netmask_bits', one per line): Myunraidip So internally, on the network itself, the ports all still work and all the dockers and plex still loads with these new settings. But when i use Openvpn connect on my android (ie connecting externally), the Webgui is now working (Finally!!!) but all my docker ports have stopped working. I tried using my new found ability of using the WebGui to open up the dockers but it still doesnt work.... Any thoughts?
  5. Strike!! Awesome! Thats worked! So i can now go on my WebGUI by just typing in my ip address, just like if i was at home on the network... ONLY PROBLEM... All my dockers ip addresses has just stopped working... whereas before; ip:8282 would have opened Sonarr, now nothing happens! Any ideas?! So close!
  6. Thanks for your reply... The only thing im running on my router is a DDNS tracker with a host name that openvpn is using on Unraid and a single port forwarding option for openvpn on my unraid machine... My router doesnt have an openvpn option on the router, only the new routers seem to have it. I guess i need to buy a new router!! So i'm a bit unsure of which way to proceed really.... My set up seems to work in regards of being to connect to openvpn using my phones network, giving me access to dockers via their various ports but not the actual Web GUI. Now i'm unsure whether or not i've got the whole thing configured correctly in the first place, i want it to be as secure as possible!
  7. This could be where im going wrong... I can turn off the OpenVPN Docker and my unraid will still connect to the internet and i can still search for my files from my pc through the network! Have i completely missed something here....
  8. Does my setup sound correct though and should i be able to access my WebGUI as i thought? My friend was saying he was unsure if i actually needed OpenVPN installed on Unraid or whether just connecting to my home network should be enough? Thanks
  9. Hi guys, Sorry if i'm interupting conversations here, i'm not sure where else to post questions about OpenVPN. I've been trying for ages to access my Unraid machine remotely using OpenVPN Connect from my mobile. It seems to be working, the IP matches that of my home IP address and as such i can now access all my dockers using ip:8080, ip:8383 etc..... BUT the one thing i cant access is the actual Unraid WebGUI! On my home network all i need to do is type in is my unraid server name and it opens up the WebGUI, however, even though i use openvpn connect and log onto my home network, typing that in doesnt work, neither does just typing in the IP address of the server. Being honest i'm not sure i completey have everything set up correctly or not. I followed Spaceinvader One's brilliant youtube video as best i could but basically i have OpenVPN on my unraidwith a dynamic host name using dyndns linked to that. I then have the DDNS section of my router filled out with the DYNDNS details (it says it connects succesfully) with a single port forwarding open for OpenVPN on my Unraid. Other than that i download the config file from openvpn, imported to my android device and it seems to work! Just not the WebGUI. Ultimately i'm trying to finish off finally getting my Unraid together with just the last two steps of being how to turn it on remotely (im guessing S3???) and once i'm done, turning it off again (via the WebGUI). Any help to finish off this long long project of mine would be greatfully appreciated! (then my girlfriend can stop moaning at me!!)
  10. Hi folks! Completely new to Linux and i'm making very slow but steady progress in setting my brand new computer up! Being a windows user my whole life getting to grips with the fact its mainly all command prompt i'm finding quite struggling but i'm getting there! The next thing that i'm struggling with is the fact i cant seem to be able to open any of my hard drives. They are all listed on the screen but every single one says "Unable to mount location - can't mount file" I know i'm probably being completely stupid and i'm missing something obvious but i'm confused as i just thought they would all open as usual (like in windows). Do i need to activate them somehow?? To confirm; I am trying to use Linux Mint Mate 18.1 I have 2 x M.2 256GB SSD (which i was hoping to use as Cache) (also installed the Linux platform on one of them) 3 x 1TB 2.5" HDD drives 1 x 4TB 3.5" HDD drive (wanting to set up eventually as a parity) None of them open when i click on them. Any help would be great thanks!
  11. Thanks so much folks for your great responses... Okay.. so taking into account what you've said i think i'm changing my mind slightly and i'm now going with a processor with more cores (and also performs better) the Intel i7 6800K 3.4Ghz and also a motherboard that seems to tick more boxes, the AsRock X99 Taichi. Unfortunately the motherboards that are required to run a processor with more cores as well as more Sata slots and dual LAN etc are much more expensive (especially here in Hong Kong!) so this motherboard is at the cheaper end of the scale. That said it still has great reviews and seems perfect for what i require. Regarding your suggestions, i now have... 1. Up to 128GB Memory 2. 10 x Sata3 Slots 3. Lots of PCi slots 4. A CPU with 6 cores, 12 threads (Benchmark of 13560) 5. Motherboard is now ECC compatible 6. No IPMI!!!! 7. Dual ethernet So as you can see, the new motherboard ticks all the boxes now, everything apart from IPMI!! I've looked into this and it seems brilliant, i'm just not sure it is a deal breaker if i'm wanting to keep the cost down... I'll certainly look at the trial version first to text my components out and i have also ran it through pcpartpicker.com Please let me know what you think of my new CPU and Motherboard set up. Many thanks!! Matt
  12. Hi! Thanks so much for that very detailed response, i wasn't expecting such great advice. I must own up to something then... I thought Raid and Unraid were the same, one was just an abbreviation! Idiot! So if i understand you correctly, i should be able to use Unraid 6 with my motherboard after all! Just to confirm, my final motherboard will be the Asus Rog Strix Z270E Gaming, along with a i7 7700K CPU. I'm not wanting to go cheap on these two items as i see them as fairly important items to future proof the machine should i start using it for gaming, so would you agree with my choice?? Or would you go for a slightly better CPU as i want to VM my machine with maybe more than one operating system? Regarding my storage for unraid 6 would i be correct in maybe using; 2 x M.2 for a Cache Pool (as well as where i install applications and operating systems for faster loading) 1 x 4TB Sata3 HHD (for Parity) 2 x 2TB Sata3 HHD (for array) Will that give me the best performance set up? Thanks so much again
  13. Hi all, Completely new to Raid and i'm very keen in building my very first Raid machine. I have lots and lots of questions (which i wont bore you with now) but i guess the main one is that why do all the motherboards that i am interested in only say they support Raid 0, 1, 5, 10? It appears from most of the community threads that i have read that the majority of people are using Raid 6 now so why do none of the motherboards do it? The boards i am looking at arn't particularly cheap either (i'm happy to spend up to around $2000USD on the complete setup) so any help would be appreciated. The 2 boards i like the sound of and have great reviews are; Asus Strix Z270E Gaming Asus Strix z270G Gaming (this is a M-ATX board which i'm actually leaning towards as PCI slots arn't important to me). Just a bit of side info, i'm mainly looking at using it as a media server which is always on and downloading. I want it to be quick though with a possible option of turning it into a gaming machine further down the line. As well as the board, i'm looking at getting Intel i7 7700K CPU (i want to overclock) G.SKill Trident Z RGB F4 16GB 3200MHZ Ram To be honest, looking at the differences between Raid 5 and Raid 6, 5 actually looks better for me as i can use less drives and its slightly faster, it just worries/confuses me as the majoirty of people are doing Raid 6 now. Many thanks
