sadman Posted January 17, 2011 Share Posted January 17, 2011 Does anyone have WOL working in 5.02 beta. I know my hardware supports it. Have tried it on 2 motherboards that supported it. Have used pci gig network adapter. The "Wake-on: g" option appears in the ethtool. At a loss on what to do. Link to comment
sadman Posted January 23, 2011 Author Share Posted January 23, 2011 Found that 5.02 beta doesn't support wol with any of the motherboards I have. Downgraded to the latest stable release version 4.6AIO and wol worked as advertised. Link to comment
limetech Posted January 23, 2011 Share Posted January 23, 2011 APM is buggy as hell on many motherboards, and the linux kernel config has options specifically to workaround various bios and laptops. So most APM stuff in 5.0-beta have been turned off and there will be a specific beta release series where we can test these options and come up with a good compromise, the goal being reliable Suspend/Wake.
