Rastarize
So I've been having some issues with my server losing connection randomly. I think it may be related to the memory, but for some reason when I try to run memtest via telnet I get an error stating 'cannot execute binary file'. I'm running on version 4.7 if that makes a difference, and if my memory serves me correctly, on 2GBs of ram. I'll have to wait to get full hardware specs when I get home, but thought I'd ask to see if anyone has any idea why I can't run memtest... Thanks. Link to comment
Joe L.
Memtest is run on the system console. It cannot be invoked via telnet. It is one of the "boot" choices when unRAID first is booted. (The default is unRAID, of course) Joe L. Link to comment
Rastarize
Okay, please excuse my total newbie question here, but how much memory does this memtest screen show I have? (sorry for the image size) http://img651.imageshack.us/img651/160/img2011021200087.jpg[/img] Moderator edit: image fit Link to comment
RobJ
That is most likely 2GB of RAM minus 256MB reserved for video. You may want to check your BIOS settings, and see if you can drop the video RAM usage to its lowest amount. Link to comment
Rastarize
Great, thanks. Ran memtest overnight and no errors. Link to comment
