Vrava
I have all the parts for Raj's Budget 15 Drive build, but perhaps server building was slightly over my head as there weren't really instructions provided with each component, and I'm not terribly certain what each part actually does. So I'm doing my best. I'm sure I'm going to have a few more questions soon, but my first problem is that the Norco 5 Bay unit does not fit into the bay because of the guide rails that are in there. Do I just need to bend those down with pliers? Or is there another solution? Link to comment
jamerson9
Yes you will have to bend the rails down or dremel them off. Using a clamp to bend down the rails is probably the easiest. If you need to purchase a clamp, get one with a long neck that can reach the rails all the way back. Link to comment

Vrava
Thank you kindly. I guess I'll just get that exact one if it's been used for this before. Hopefully I haven't bitten off a little more than I can chew with this build. Link to comment
Vrava
Good grief, Peter! That thing is bigger than the computer itself! Kinda looks like fun though. Thanks for the picture! Glad to have a visual of what I'm supposed to do. Link to comment
Vrava
The one mentioned above wasn't on Amazon Prime, but this one should work, yeah? http://www.amazon.com/TEKTON-4027-6-Inch-Heavy-Clamp/dp/B000NY6QO2/ref=sr_1_11?s=power-hand-tools&ie=UTF8&qid=1314335534&sr=1-11 Link to comment
ProfQ
Although a regular C clamp might work (depending on your case), you might be better off with a deep Throat C Clamp. Such as: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Dtools&field-keywords=deep+c+clamp&x=0&y=0 I'd say around a 4" deep throat or so should be OK. Link to comment
