[MOVED FROM unRAID Server Release 5.0-beta13 Available ]

Hi, this is my first build so here it goes...

I have build out my server (stats are below including links in case some one needs more info or would like to get the parts)

I am using the latest 5.13 build as the MD is Realteck 8111E  chipset for LAN and I do not have plig-in card.

my issue is that I can not get to my server from the web.

I tried every permutation of  "//Tower","//tower"

and "//IP_ADDRESS"

nothing works

this is the basic build, and nothing extra have been installed.

the only files on the flash  drive are from the limetech posted zip for the build.

it boots, it runs the unraid, I can ping it, I get the IP address (changed it to static IP)

I can Tellnet with PUTTY

can run the " ifconfig eth0"  get the screen full of info including my IP etc.

BUT no web.

I will post the log file tonight (it was very late last night when I booted up and I just was too tired to mess with logs and stuff)  but if anyone have any additional things that they might think I need to run for tests and troubleshooting please let me know.

PS>> I am only booting with one (1) unformatted  uncleared HDD as I am not finish with my case modes so not all HDD are installed. but I do not think this could cause issues with booting unRaid(can it?)

I am running all windows 7 64bit PC (2+)

my main PC is win 7 Ultimate 64bit fresh build as I had an HD crash

my 2nd is HTPC  windows 7 home 64bit (this is where all my RIPS are now)

my stats are :

NO CASE STATS :-),  I am using an old full tower case that I am trying to mode to make it nice

some paint here, some tweaks there, nothing serious but to make all my things fit and make sure I have room for future modes.

I'm having a similar issue.  I can connect fine to unMENU, it connects nearly instantly.

When I try to connect to the web GUI, it takes minutes, maybe 15 of them before it will eventually connect.

I assume I have something screwed up, but don't know what it might be.  I tried this...

killall emhttp
nohup /usr/local/sbin/emhttp &

but putty just sits there also.  it effects the code to unRAID, but it's now been 5 minutes, and it still has not finished and returned to the command prompt.

any ideas?

**EDIT -  I just looked at the syslog in unMENU, and I see this, which seems bad...

I restarted unRAID, and now I can't connect to anything, other than putty.

I want this to work, I want to buy a license, I want to enjoy solid, reliable backup.  I'm just not having any luck, and don't want to spend the $$ for a license if it's just not going to work for me.

How would one "start over", or go back to the default setup?

It feels like I've just got something jacked up, but I have no idea what, nor how to find or fix it.

I really don't want to start from scratch, but I think I'd rather do that, than bang my head against the wall for hours upon hours several times/week.

well Justin, in my case I just can not connect.

the web throws an error can not connect and that is it.

I only use IE and Opera for browser

PUTTY  works just fine, no delay or anything (I have setup my router last night to make the IP static)

I can ping the server, I can see it working in console (local Monitor and keyboard)

I can get to it with PUTTY, I can get to it using IP_ADDRESS in browser

but not server name.

I know that I am not even a half way to be done with setup but I want to make sure that the basic config works before I start throwing add-ons in.

Is it a really big issue that you can't use the server name?  If it is, you can edit the 'hosts' file on your windows machine to add the server name and its IP address to that file.  The problem is that you need the equivalent of a local DNS server to resolve the name of the server (to its IP address).  An entry in the 'hosts' file will solve that problem.  Google "how to modify hosts file' for instructions.

No Frank it is not a big issue anymore.

at first I could not connect to it at all via WebUI. thus the post

it was as web UI was not working.

I think it was my verizon router and not unRaid  but I can not be sure...

now  I can get to main page using IP thus I am closing this post as solved.
