graywolf
Is it safe to upgrade 5.0-beta14 ? I am using version: 4.7, my server is HP Mini Server If that uses LSI SATA controllers then beta 13 and beta 14 are AVOID AT ALL COSTS. What are the problems with LSI controllers? I have a M1015 (reflashed to IT mode P11) and a AOC-SASLP-MV8. Currently running 3 preclears of 2TB drives under 5b14 and not seeing any issues, but then again, do not have the test array running yet. Is the problem only with the disks sleeping/waking? Any issues if you have spin down set to never? Looking for the most stable beta what supports both the M1015 & MV8 card so I can do some testing prior to moving my unRaid 4.7 system onto a VM as I'm running out of space on my 4.7 system and no more space avail to put another HDD into that box. ajax3712
First off, Happy New Year! Unfortunately, it's not off to a good start for me & unraid. Parity is currently rebuilding @ 4KB/sec - 7014330 minutes until complete!!! Tons of errors in syslog with Supermicro SASLP-MV8, i believe first reported in b13 (http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=16125.msg152449;topicseen#msg152449). Don't seem to recall these errors with previous betas, though. Other symptoms, unresponsive web GUI takes 10s of minutes to respond, parity sync errors... Syslog zipped & attached for your perusal... PS... Is there a way to stop parity sync via the command line (since the GUI is not responding)? syslog-2012-01-01.txt.zip Quote Link to comment

jumperalex
I'm sure there a lot of changes in the change log ... anything specific that might help unraid? Linux kernel v3.2.0 is out. prtsmgr
Again its quiet from Tom's side.. No new versions? I'm still on 4.7 and waiting to go to 5.? Sounds like the next release is not far off, and 5.0 final soon after that. The LimeTech forum has been updated to latest SMF release. Please let me know if you see any problems. Other news: Next unRaid release - now that linux kernel 3.2 is released, I will integrate and post one more 5.0-beta, thereafter, 5.0-rc1, then 5.0 "final". Website - after forum update and some website tweaks we will be moving from shared hosting to a VPS. They tell me this will be "painless", we'll see. Company - We are changing to a C-Corp and moving to San Diego, CA area sometime in February. As soon as we have secured space out there I will post another announcement regarding this. Probably the main thing anyone would care about is that once in CA, we have to start charging CA sales tax... Servers - We are working with a company in So. Calif. to design a new series of servers. These servers will all include "trayless" hard drive cages with choice of three electronic packages: "Low Power", "Standard", and "High Performance". More later...... Quote Link to comment
