Happy Fathers Day

Just wanted to say Happy Fathers Day to all of you unRaid dads. I hope you all have a wonderful day!
Fathers day actually (strangely) reminds me of how my media server first got started. My son was 2 years old when Happy Feet came out and he absolutely loved the movie. He watched it all day everyday, to the point that I could be walking in the house or doing just about anything and come into earshot of the movie, instantly pick up on the dialog and say it word for word.
You don't realize that DVDs wear out because normally they aren't played frequently so they last for years, his lasted on average a month. This was partly due to sticky fingers grabbing the disk, but one copy never left the drive and just got wore out from heat/use.
After buying the movie for the 4th or 5th time, I decided I needed a better way of letting him watch his movies, so I bought a pc that was on sale, a E-Machines, a 1 tb harddrive, and a nvidia 9800 gt. Put it all together, found a front-end to use and started ripping all my DVDs to the computer. Happy Feet was the first movie added, of course.
That first Htpc is still going, just with a different video card, it acted as htpc and server for over 3 years before I made the switch to unraid.
Funny how, once you become a parent, almost everything can remind you of your kids in one way or another.
Anyway, that's my story. Thought it'd be fun to hear from the rest of the dads on here, maybe a interesting/funny story that relates to why your here.
Happy Fathers Day!

mines very similar, the amount of dvd's that got broken before unraid was alot.
was a bit worried about getting unraid as its linux based , something i wasn't familiar with, after 3-4 days trying out the free version, simulating faults, replacing disks .
The worries on the linux thing where gone. HP deal for the microserver was purchased along with 2 license for unraid.
Now all films stream to their xbmc for them to play.
Have been telling everyone how great the system is.
