Ford Prefect
...see: http://www.supermicro.nl/products/motherboard/Xeon/C600/X9SRL-F.cfm The first serverboard with a single socket and more than 4 usable ports for us hooked to virtualization ...it is quite expensive...around twice the price of the X9SCM around here... BobPhoenix
Super Biiz has it for $295.99 which is better than Amazon's third party seller of 499.99. So it is getting more reasonable here already. Quote Link to comment
BetaQuasi
Wow that is a really nice board - would be perfect for a 24+ drive with esxi build somewhere down the track. Quote Link to comment

Don't know if it will accept a 2011 socket I7 (i7-3820 is the one with vt-d)...these start from EUR265 here. The smallest XEON with vt-d is the E5-2603 (quad-core but no HT, compared to the i7) and starts from EUR191. The E5-2620 is a six-core with HT and sells for EUR375 here. ...still only some expensive choices to make. Quote Link to comment
Johnm
I have sort of been waiting for this guy. we are looking at getting one for work to play with. This would make a good board for a massive single system ESXi or as a head for a multi box unraid/storage farm. Quote Link to comment
marcusone
Drool. Glad I've waited to build my home esxi system :-) Sent from my SGH-I727R using Tapatalk 2 Quote Link to comment
starcat
Anyone has the X9SRL-F already in use? Any feedback? Does it allow unRAID to software control fan-speed? Quote Link to comment
