bubbaQ
I upgraded to 5.04 and rebuilt some things, and reran my 10gbe tests. I'm using two Intel X540 cards with a cat6a cable direct connected between a Window's workstation and unRAID. With iperf, I get 3.6 gbps with a single thread. Four threads gets me 8.7 gbps... so wireline is good. Reading from a RAID-0 cache drive in unRAID flies at about 260MB/sec. Monitoring the traffic shows a nice smooth and consistent utilization of the network. Writing however, was rather chatty. Any suggestions of tweaks are welcome. Quote Link to comment
stomp
Sorry to bump this rather old topic... I'm really looking to build the same setup. I have some questions for you: 1. Were your unRAID server connected to a 1 Gbe network using a second NIC (or the second port of the 10 GBe NIC if it was a X2)? Do you identify any problem to do so? My plan is to direct connect my workstation to the server with 10 Gbe (for work purpose) and connect the server at the same time to my network with 1 Gbe (for streaming purpose). 2. What kind of hard drives were you using in your RAID0 array? HDD? SSD? Thanks in advance. stomp Quote Link to comment
