Dynamix - Web GUI

Recommended Posts

So finally got home.

Maybe my sensors.conf is wrong:

root@Tower:/boot/config/plugins/dynamix# cat sensors.conf
chip "coretemp-isa-0000"
label "Physical id 0" "MB Temp"
label "Core 0" "CPU Temp"
root@Tower:/boot/config/plugins/dynamix# sensors
coretemp-isa-0000
Adapter: ISA adapter
Physical id 0:  +29.0 C  (high = +80.0 C, crit = +85.0 C)
Core 0:         +28.0 C  (high = +80.0 C, crit = +85.0 C)
Core 1:         +30.0 C  (high = +80.0 C, crit = +85.0 C)

sensors-detect told me to only add modprobe coretemp and nothing else. When I type it in, nothing happens, syslog isn't showing anything either.

EDIT: Ok, I was being stupid. Of course my sensors.conf was wrong. I hit google and found out that I need to run sensors -u coretemp-isa-0000 to see which labels I need, they are called temp2_input but you only have to use temp2 in the sensors.conf - now it works.

<snip> temperature for my Mainboard and CPU are not shown. So I read the wiki entry <snip>

I've found the Wiki on the temperature sensor stuff before, but my search skills are failing me now.  Can someone give me a pointer. I'll go read there before asking more questions here.

Thanks

Hi

I was wondering something hoped you could help. On v 5.0.5 if we set up email settings it works but only status reports are sent. If a rsync command or other command is sent no email. If you install the email setup from unmenu you get emails when these other commands are sent. So on 5.0.5 I install both packages. On 6beta only dynamix works so unless I want to figure out how to install the unmenu package by hand I am with out these extra informational emails. Is there a way I can modify dynamix to send the other information as well so I don't need the other package?

Thank you in advance

I'm hoping for a little more help with users and permissions.

Up until tonight, I had no issues writing files from my main PC to Limelight. Even with this share's SMB Security set to Secure and this machine NOT set to rwx. I don't currently have a password for my main PC. There was a few Windows updates that I installed tonight, then rebooted.

I started a file transfer on a few files using Total Commander and saw an access denied error. Saw a similar error using Windows Explorer. There is a second share on the server, so I wrote to that, then moved the files to the correct share using MC.

Should I reboot the server after the change in SMB Security Settings?

I rebooted my desktop and I can now delete from and transfer to the server.

upgraded to 5.0.5 and got rid of simple features and currently running dynamix. i just had a quick question about the email alerts.. under dynamix > email notifications > smtp settings,  i put all my settings in and hit test and it works. the test email goes to my 2ndary email (which is the settings i entered, so that's fine.

whats the easiest and safest way to force an email (not to my secondary email but to my primary set under 'email settings') to make sure it works? is it possible?

EDIT: nevermind, fixed my own issue. need to reverse the recipient/sender addresses.

For some reason Dynamix seems to crash my UnRaid Server. I did the initial Parity Build twice now, and everytime the Server completely crashes and spins down all the disk at around 75%, no message written to the syslog except from the s3 plugin. Keyboard is not working anymore, not even the powerbutton does work (I have to turn it off by holding it for 4 seconds). Then I removed dynamix from /boot/plugins and the Parity sync completed. I also had other issues with Dynamix, for example an empty disk not spinning down even though in the syslog I saw that the spindown command was sent to the disk - no problems without Dynamix either.

The problem is, I really need some of the plugins from Dynamix, like the s3 sleep. How can I debug this and find the cause for the crashes?

Post a full syslog...its probably something caused by a plugin that's out of date or some odd conflict of plugin dependencies.

I installed Dynamix 2.2.3 and the same version of the Plugin Manager, then I installed all the Plugins I need via the WebGUI.

I added a syslog now with Dynamix enabled - I had it disabled to be able to do the Initial Parity Sync (creation).

As for the SATA Errors on ata.8 - that is my Cache drive which is connected to an external PCIe controller - I had to purchase a new one since with the old one unRaid wouldn't even boot (even if the chipset should have been compatible), now this one gives me a lot of ata errors but during parity sync I had the cache drive disconnected - just to make sure that it is not the cause of the problems. Aside from those errors it's performing fine (can copy to it at roughly 80 MB/s, it's a very old drive so that's fine).

another Problem with Dynamix: I tested S3 Sleep manually for the first time. As before, Dynamix does not spin down my whole array so I have to manually do it. It took quite long but the server went to sleep, but when it came up, the shares were available right away but the Dynamix WebGUI took like 3-5 minutes to be available - is that normal?

Hello,

I am currently using simpleFeatures with the web server enabled and ownCloud on top of that (unRAID 5.0.3). With the recent heartbleed attack having so much attention, I'd like to update my OpenSSL on the box to 1.0.1.g+ where the issue is fixed and switch to Dynamix as well.

It looks I can simply delete a couple directories (after backing them up of course) to rid of simpleFeatures then install Dynamix. Any idea how I can modify the Dynamix install to use the latest OpenSSL not vunerable to heartbleed?

Update:

I did the following:

[*]Deleted simpleFeatures from the box

[*]Added Dynamix to the box

[*]Pointed to my already existing ownCloud www root

[*]Enabled SSL only the dynamix.lighttpd.cfg, pointed at my certs, etc.

This left me non-vunerable to Heartbleed as I'm now using OpenSSL 0.9.8.x. I'd still like to update the OpenSSL libs to 1.0.1g but don't fully understand the .plg black magic for picking Slackware packages (They do have a 1.0.1g in slackware-current)

I was reviewing my disc health stats tonight, and saw that one disc shows "SMART overall-health : FAILED!", but the dashboard page shows a green thumbs-up icon for this same disc.  I'm not sure what the green thumbs-up icon is supposed to represent, or what it's supposed to mean, but it seems that a failed SMART health should result in something other than a green thumbs-up icon on the dashboard.

Not really complaining, just providing some feedback on what I consider a great addition to unRAID.

Thanks.

Something odd is going on. I have the plugins in my /boot/config/plugins folder. Yet, when the server reboots, I have to install the plugin control manually. For some reason it does not install automatically. I just did a manual update of the webGUI as well, as I could not get to the installer in the plugin control. I'll try another reboot tonight and see what happens.

You probably have the main Dynamix webGUI in /boot/config/plugins. It must be in /boot/plugins so it gets loaded before the other Dynamix components.

In /boot/plugins I have:

dynamix.webGui-2.2.3-i486-1.txz

In /boot/config/plugins I have all the Dynamix .plg files and a dynamix folder with the .cfg files and other plugin .txz files.

After a re-boot the same thing happened. I see the Dynamix webGUI, but the Dynamix plugin control is missing. After re-installing the Dynamix plugin control .plg manually, it will show up again in the webgui.

That .txz file will not install itself. The dynamix.webGui .plg file must be in /boot/plugins also.
