(SOLVED) /sbin/installpkg: line 439: echo: write error: No space left on device

Recommended Posts

I'm unable to install any packages from my flash drive. I get this error:

/sbin/installpkg: line 439: echo: write error: No space left on device

The for example i was trying to install "/boot/extra/python-2.7.3-i686-5PTr.txz" so from a telnet session i typed "installpkg /boot/extra/python-2.7.3-i686-5PTr.txz" and I recieved the error. It happens for any package.

this is the full output i get:

root@Tower:~# installpkg /boot/packages/git-1.7.4.4-i486-1.txz

Verifying package git-1.7.4.4-i486-1.txz.

your flash drive may have been marked as read-only if file-system-corruption was detected.

you might want to run checkdisk/scandisk on a it from a windows PC.  (stop your array, power down, then unplug the flash drive and move it to the PC for the check)
