Glimmerman911
Does unraid support multiple hard drives via a USB 3.0 enclosure, such as the NexStar HX4? I am currently running a NexStart HX4 successfully over eSATA, but the bandwith over USB 3.0 would allow me to put more than 2 drives in it. Quote Link to comment
JonathanM
Does unraid support multiple hard drives via a USB 3.0 enclosureNope, and nope. Unraid doesn't support usb attached hard drives as array members or cache drive, and it also doesn't have the necessary parts to make USB 3.0 work either. 3.0 devices are accessed at 2.0 speeds. SSD
3.0 devices are accessed at 2.0 speeds. Is that true? I thought I read about someone preclearing a USB 3.0 drive on unRAID and it was fast. Quote Link to comment

I haven't tested the newest versions, I could easily be wrong about the current releases using 3.0. I just assumed that if full 3.0 support was added, it would be mentioned in the release notes. J.R.
I'm curious about USB3.0 support as well. I'd LOVE to be able to connect an external 3.0 drive for backups and take advantage of the additional speed 3.0 offers. Anyone confirm/deny this? Quote Link to comment
StevenD
unRAID v6 works just fine with USB 3.0 enclosures. I recently pre-cleared some drives via USB 3.0 and it was as fast as SATA. Quote Link to comment
