danielparker
Hi, I have been having issues with slowness with my Unraid.. Typical Parity rebuild was occurring at 1.5MB/Sec, and sometimes had read / write issues. I replaced all of my nice new long IDE cables with old short IDE cables I had around the place, and all of my issues seam to have gone away. Parity rebuild now about 12MB/Sec. So.. Make sure your IDE cables are as short as possible. Daniel Quote Link to comment
erikatcuse
When unraid 1.0 was out this was one thing tom suggested. Also do not use round ide cables either Quote Link to comment
Billped
I am pretty sure I read somewhere that the IDE spec calls out a limit of about 18" and a lot of manufacturers make them a LOT longer. As they are unshielded and sitting in a hostile environment, sticking with short cables seems smart. Bill Quote Link to comment
