Is smb-extra.conf still supported?

(1/1)

mcs:
Unfortunately I don't have a test system on which to experiment.
I currently make extensive use of smb-extra.conf to setup "fine grained" shares.  Will I still be able to do this under 5.0?
Thanks
Mario

BRiT:
Yes.

Currently the only difference between the 4.5.6 smb.conf and 5.0b1 smb.conf is the removal of the following line to be relocated into the smb-names.conf generated file.

--- Code: ---       passdb backend = smbpasswd

--- End code ---

bubbaQ:
5.0 is a work in progress.  I would NOT upgrade a server to it at this time.... it is really only for testing by people with a spare/test server available.

Understood.  This can be taken as a "feature maintenance" request, or a request to provide similar functionality through a gui ;)
