if it's not enough, could you give me the path to locate the log?

Thanks

ok the log will be located in whatever you mapped /config to on the host side, for instance if you map /config to /mnt/cache/appdata/config/delugevpn then the log will be located at /mnt/cache/appdata/config/delugevpn/supervisord.log

that aside for a moment, i have spotted two things in the log:-

1. you have incorrect cert file(s) - 0 2017 OpenSSL: error:14090086:SSL routines:ssl3_get_server_certificate:certificate verify failed, so delete everything in the /config/openvpn/ directory and then re-download the certs and the ovpn file from your vpn provider and put them in that directory, then try again.

2. it looks like you may not be running with elevated permissions - RTNETLINK answers: Operation not permitted, are you running with the "privileged = on" or if your not an unraid user, then have the docker argument "--cap-add=NET_ADMIN" if not then you wont have permissions to create the tunnel adapter inside the container.

please do post the full supervisord.log file though as there might be more info in this.

edit - and keep in mind what jonathanm posted :-)

Hello,

Hope you're well.

Yes, I am an unraid user.

1 - I have extracted new files from my provider to config/openvpn

2 - I put priviledge "on"

3 - I change my setting from "custom" to "PIA"

here come the new supervisor.log.

thanks !!

but your provider isnt PIA as can be seen by the VPN_REMOTE value your specifying "fra-a02.wlvpn.com", right? if it isnt PIA (private internet access) then set it back to custom, you will also then need to delete again whats in /config/openvpn/ and re-dowload from your provider your cert and ovpn file.

ok so still cert issues there, can you make sure you are downloading the correct files, you should have two files in /config/openvpn:-

1. https://www.usenetserver.com/vpn/software/configs/fra-a02.ovpn - this file is your openvpn config file, download it from this url and paste it into /config/openvpn/

2. https://www.usenetserver.com/vpn/software/configs/vpn.crt - this is the certificate file, download it from this url and paste it into /config/openvpn/

there should be no other files in /config/openvpn/, if there are then delete them.

then restart the docker container and see if it will connect.

Been using this docker with PIA for quite a while with no issue.  All of the sudden my torrents won't connect to peers and Deluge reports negative peer numbers?!  Even when it shows I'm connected to seeders, the ratio available is less than 1??  Not really sure where to start troublehsooting since Deluge appears to be connecting fine.  Attached is a screenshot of a torrent status where it shows seed connections, negative peers and ratio less than 1.

EDIT: Seems to have been a permissions error with my download directory.  I ran the permissions script on my cache drive and it seems to have resolved the issue.

I wouldn't recommend running the new permissions tool against your cache drive, instead delete the file /config/perms.txt and restart the docker container, it will be faster and safer.

Thanks for info.  In my particular case, I think the permissions issue was with the directory where I store my downloads and that same directory is also shared with NZBgetVPN on my cache drive in my appdata folder. I'm not sure how it happened, but I think the permissions of this directory were changed and neither docker could write to it.  Rather than doing a chmod at the command line, I just ran the script - not knowing this could be unsafe.  Would you mind expanding on this part?  Because I use a Windows VM and sometimes create directories in Windows Explorer and transfer files with Windows, I notice the permissions are not always correct and in the past I've run the new permissions tool to fix it. Thanks.

so if you run the new permissions tool then what it will do is chmod/chown all files/folders for that specified area of the disk as user nobody, group users.

This can cause two potential issues:-

1. if you are running docker containers as different users per container (defined via values PUID and GUID) then this will obviously break any running containers

2. as configuration files are written out by the application running inside the container to the host area as defined via /config (name maybe different for different containers) they maybe set with very specific permissions, so if you were to drill down into configuration files for say plex, then you will most probably find permissions on certain files/folder will be set to very specific values, resetting these files/folders to whatever is specified via the new permissions tool may screw things up and/or result in security issues.

in short its always better to try and isolate permission resets to a specific docker container if possible.

Hi Binhex,

I followed your new instructions and unfortunatelly, problem remains : VPN can't connect.

I precise that i have been able to connect through the openvpn plugin, so access to vpn is granted (just in case).

Maybe I should subscribe to another one; I really want to make your container work on my unraid server.

I attached new supervisor log.

Let me know ;)

thank for your help

ok i see that the ovpn file has an embedded cert, maybe openvpn is getting confused by the fact that a crt file also exists, so please delete all files with a crt extension from /config/openvpn/ directory and restart the container.

ok i give up :-), at the end of the day even if you did get this to connect your going to get crappy speeds because this provider does not allow incoming connections. my advise, switch to PIA or AirVPN and be happy.

I don't want to pester you binhex but it's there any chance of getting this included in the docker?

I'm having to reboot rather regularly at the moment due to VM issues and having to go in and reapply it every time is starting  to get old ;D

It will be included in the next build, I've got more than just that to include so it will require some testing, hope to have it done by next Friday latest.

OK, but how to be sure to subscrive to a PIA VPN provider ?

PIA https://www.privateinternetaccess.com/

AirVPN https://airvpn.org/

Thanks Jonathan but both website cannot be accessed : SSL_ERROR_ACCESS_DENIED_ALERT

It's a nightmare..

Sounds like you have deeper issues. Both websites are fine from here. Maybe try different browser or computer? Can you access them from a smartphone?

Hi Jonathann, Hi Binhex,

I quit usenetserver vpn and I've subscribe to PIA.

I've downloaded ovpn + crt files from https://www.privateinternetaccess.com/openvpn/openvpn.zip, and extract them to boot/config/openvpn

I can access Web UI, and i've added torrent files. Deluge load them, tracker is nice, but deluge does not download.

I don't understand... :/

Please check config attached :

1 - I've opened 58846 UDP and TCP port on my router

2 - I sent a ping to france.privateinternetaccess.com and I've reached 108.61.122.152. Log told that I reached another ip : 108.61.122.157:1198. maybe it's normal, I don't know.

So, could you please help me?

I attach screenshot, and supervisor file.

Thanks

The path for your data volume mapping is a bit non standard, can you try setting it to something with no special characters, my theory is that deluge cannot write to that path and thus no downloads start. Also you are configuring deluge app to write to /data right?

OK, change data path to /mnt/user/Home Cinema/Torrent/ and tried to /mnt/user/Torrent

Same problem.. 3 hours without download.

I think you're right. Deluge does not write on the disk. The proof is no file is created into the folder when I load a *.torrent to download.

any idea?
