[SOLVED] No Free Space for Plugin Upgrade but Successful Install ....

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

Has anyone experienced an issue with upgrading plugins in v 6.01 recently.

First I upgraded the Nerd Tools Plugin and pressed done before looking at the output but as it disappeared I saw multiple "No Space Left on Device" errors. However, when it went back to the plugins page it seemed to have installed fine.

I then tried to upped community applications and this time I grabbed the output ....

plugin: updated

Once again, there are many errors about lack of free space. So I checked my USB drive space:

Boot Device
Device	Identification	Temp.	Size	         Used	Free	       Reads	Writes	Errors	FS	View
Flash	DT_101_G2 (sda)	*	        7.91 GB	216 MB     7.70 GB    3985	         718	           0	        vfat	Browse /boot

As you can see above, I have plenty of space on the USB device. 7.70GB in fact. So I do not understand why the plugin system is throwing the errors.

Just for kicks I tried another one, this time Dynamic System Info

Once again - it shows a successful install but the output gives me the no space on device errors.

Can anyone help? I haven't upgraded any plugin since the release of 6.01 and the server has not been off in all that time.

:(

Ah, I may have posted prematurely. I just noticed this thread:

http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=41985.0

Perhaps it is the same thing?

The only question I would have is (if it is the same issue) - if there is no space to do the install then why would it say there has been a successful install and show the new plugin version on the plugins page?

Perhaps it isn't the same thing?

Hi Guys,

After a period away Internationally I am back and have just tried to upgrade my plugins etc. I am still experiencing the "no available space" errors.

I don't think it is the same problem as in the thread I posted several weeks ago.

Are myself and spencers the only 2 people experiencing this?

To re-itterate, the plugins all seem to install fine, its just these errors (further example below) are being reported ....

It's not clear why you think this is any different, since you don't say what you have done to diagnose or resolve.

Your tmpfs is probably full so it's not able to write the logs from installing the plugin. That is what that thread you linked previously  is about.

It's not clear why you think this is any different, since you don't say what you have done to diagnose or resolve.

Your tmpfs is probably full so it's not able to write the logs from installing the plugin. That is what that thread you linked previously  is about.

The reason I thought this was a different issue was because of my interpretation of the errors. I was incorrect.

Verifying package p7zip-9.38.1-x86_64-1tom.txz.
expr: syntax error

I didn't see how lack of space could throw a Syntax error in a command.

This (from link in my original post) fixed the issue:

mount -o remount,size=384m /var/log

Clearly I was very wrong. Added this to my Go file (in /boot/config). All fixed. Thanks to all for the replies and the support.

I had this issue.

I looked in /var/logs (which was 100% full) and one of the files docker.log.1 was using almost all of the space (about 120mb of the 128mb).

I didn't even bother to look in the log since about a month ago I had run out of space in my docker.img file, and had just recreated a new one and re setup my dockers. I assume it was complaning in the log about it not working, being full, blah, blah, blah.

I moved the file (docker.log.1) to my cache drive, rebooted my server and all the dockers started back up and created a new log file (i think its docker.log).

Since then, my docker.img is 30% full (6/20GB) and the logs are 3% full.

Moving the docker log file had no real impact, other than needing to restart the server to get the free space updated properly. I also reloaded all my plugins, just to be sure (remove, then readd)
