jonp
For those in the know, when a VM is created with an NVIDIA GPU passed through, unRAID automatically disables the use of Hyper-V extensions which can improve certain performance elements inside the guest. This is disabled because NVIDIA's drivers have been detecting the presence of hyper-v extensions and disabling the GPU in Windows with a Code 43 error as a result. Just recently, Alex Williamson from Red Hat worked up another patch to QEMU that will prevent NVIDIA from detecting that state, allowing hyper-v enlightenments to be enabled even when using the latest NVIDIA GPUs and graphics drivers. Generally speaking, you won't see much of a performance improvement from this in 3D Mark, but further research has shown that there are definitely some games out there that this will impact more than others. All in all, this is a good thing. More news on this in a future release of unRAID 6.x Quote Link to comment
