Sipheren
Hi, So I have decided to use Unraid to turn my system into 2 systems. Everything has gone well except the GPU passthrough. I only have the single GPU at the moment (second coming) so I am just trying to get it to passthrough. Now it shows up in the under Device Management but when I try to install the drivers the screen flicks black and Unraid crashes. Just wanting to see what I should be looking at here to try and sort this out, Here is my VM settings: <domain type='kvm' xmlns:qemu='http://libvirt.org/schemas/domain/qemu/1.0'> <name>MainSys</name> <uuid>42d50884-5fdc-f8b5-3287-61dd3effd531</uuid> <description>Main System</description> <metadata> <vmtemplate name="Custom" icon="windows.png" os="windows"/> </metadata> <memory unit='KiB'>16777216</memory> <currentMemory unit='KiB'>16777216</currentMemory> <memoryBacking> <nosharepages/> <locked/> </memoryBacking> <vcpu placement='static'>12</vcpu> <cputune> <vcpupin vcpu='0' cpuset='0'/> <vcpupin vcpu='1' cpuset='1'/> <vcpupin vcpu='2' cpuset='2'/> <vcpupin vcpu='3' cpuset='3'/> <vcpupin vcpu='4' cpuset='4'/> <vcpupin vcpu='5' cpuset='5'/> <vcpupin vcpu='6' cpuset='6'/> <vcpupin vcpu='7' cpuset='7'/> <vcpupin vcpu='8' cpuset='8'/> <vcpupin vcpu='9' cpuset='9'/> <vcpupin vcpu='10' cpuset='10'/> <vcpupin vcpu='11' cpuset='11'/> </cputune> <os> <type arch='x86_64' machine='pc-i440fx-2.3'>hvm</type> </os> <features> <acpi/> <apic/> <hyperv> <relaxed state='on'/> <vapic state='on'/> <spinlocks state='on' retries='8191'/> </hyperv> </features> <cpu mode='host-passthrough'> <topology sockets='1' cores='12' threads='1'/> </cpu> <clock offset='localtime'> <timer name='hypervclock' present='yes'/> <timer name='hpet' present='no'/> </clock> <on_poweroff>destroy</on_poweroff> <on_reboot>restart</on_reboot> <on_crash>restart</on_crash> <devices> <emulator>/usr/bin/qemu-system-x86_64</emulator> <disk type='file' device='disk'> <driver name='qemu' type='raw' cache='writeback'/> <source file='/mnt/user/vDisksSSD/Win/vdisk1.img'/> <target dev='hda' bus='virtio'/> <boot order='1'/> <address type='pci' domain='0x0000' bus='0x00' slot='0x04' function='0x0'/> </disk> <disk type='file' device='cdrom'> <driver name='qemu' type='raw'/> <source file='/mnt/user/ISOs/virtio-win-0.1.102.iso'/> <target dev='hdb' bus='ide'/> <readonly/> <address type='drive' controller='0' bus='0' target='0' unit='1'/> </disk> <controller type='usb' index='0'> <address type='pci' domain='0x0000' bus='0x00' slot='0x01' function='0x2'/> </controller> <controller type='pci' index='0' model='pci-root'/> <controller type='ide' index='0'> <address type='pci' domain='0x0000' bus='0x00' slot='0x01' function='0x1'/> </controller> <controller type='virtio-serial' index='0'> <address type='pci' domain='0x0000' bus='0x00' slot='0x03' function='0x0'/> </controller> <interface type='bridge'> <mac address='52:54:00:4d:38:9c'/> <source bridge='br0'/> <model type='virtio'/> <address type='pci' domain='0x0000' bus='0x00' slot='0x02' function='0x0'/> </interface> <serial type='pty'> <target port='0'/> </serial> <console type='pty'> <target type='serial' port='0'/> </console> <channel type='unix'> <source mode='bind' path='/var/lib/libvirt/qemu/channel/target/MainSys.org.qemu.guest_agent.0'/> <target type='virtio' name='org.qemu.guest_agent.0'/> <address type='virtio-serial' controller='0' bus='0' port='1'/> </channel> <hostdev mode='subsystem' type='usb' managed='no'> <source> <vendor id='0x14cd'/> <product id='0x8601'/> </source> </hostdev> <memballoon model='virtio'> <address type='pci' domain='0x0000' bus='0x00' slot='0x05' function='0x0'/> </memballoon> </devices> <qemu:commandline> <qemu:arg value='-device'/> <qemu:arg value='ioh3420,bus=pci.0,addr=1c.0,multifunction=on,port=2,chassis=1,id=root.1'/> <qemu:arg value='-device'/> <qemu:arg value='vfio-pci,host=02:00.0,bus=root.1,addr=00.0,multifunction=on,x-vga=on'/> <qemu:arg value='-device'/> <qemu:arg value='vfio-pci,host=02:00.1,bus=root.1,addr=00.1'/> <qemu:arg value='-device'/> <qemu:arg value='vfio-pci,host=00:1b.0,bus=root.1,addr=01.0'/> <qemu:arg value='-device'/> <qemu:arg value='vfio-pci,host=00:1a.0,bus=root.1,addr=00.0'/> </qemu:commandline> </domain> System: Xeon 2670 32GB DDRIII GA-X79-UP4 Running Windows 10 in the VM, fresh install. I tried "virtio-win-0.1.113" and "virtio-win-0.1.102" Thanks Further to this, it sometimes just doesn't detect the card, in Device Manager I just have the AMD HD Audio and a standard MS Basic Display Adapter. Sipheren
Just something else further to this, in the drop down list where you assign a gpu I only see "AMD Device", in the examples I have seen of others the actual card name is there. I chucked in a second GPU (nvidia card) to see if that would make a difference, the drop down lost now has the full card name of the nvidia card and "AMD Device". Does this mean that Unraid isn't detecting the Fury X correctly? Quote Link to comment
SpaceInvaderOne
please post your system pci devices and iommu groups from tools/system devices in unraid gui Quote Link to comment
