Introducing Services From Lime Technology

We have always offered multiple paths to getting help with unRAID. The Wiki provides loads of information and the Forum is a great place to consult with us and other users.  But there are some times when you just want to talk to an expert directly in a one-on-one session.  For these occasions, we are pleased to announce new services offerings from Lime Technology.  To set proper expectations, this is a pilot program, so some things may change as time progresses and we learn more about what people want to use these services to accomplish. To kick things off though, we are offering two types of sessions that you can schedule with an expert:


Configuration

With all the versatility of unRAID, there are many different ways to use it and set it up most optimally.  Whether you need hardware recommendations or just want a guided setup of your system, a configuration session can take care of this for you.  This can include things like BIOS configuration, assigning your first devices, setting up users and shares, configuring Docker containers, virtual machines, GPU pass through, and much more.

Troubleshooting

Whether or a disk has gone offline or a network configuration isn’t working properly, sometimes weird issues can occur.  A troubleshooting session may help determine the root cause in less time than through the forums. Some issues are caused by faulty hardware and others due to misconfigurations or special requirements. Regardless of the cause, working with an expert can help get to the root of it. Important note: troubleshooting doesn’t include data recovery services of any kind.

How does it work and how much does it cost?

You must have a Mac or Windows computer on the network with your unRAID system that we can remotely control to work on the system.  Having at least a headset with a microphone is highly recommended, but text-based chat is also supported.  Sessions are 1 hour for an introductory price of $50 and scheduling one is incredibly easy:

  1. Visit the Services page.
  2. Pick the type of help you need.
  3. Select a date and time you want to schedule the session.
  4. Fill out the form with additional information.
  5. Checkout and pay a 50% deposit.
  6. Prior to the appointment, you will receive instructions on how to join the remote session from your computer.

At the beginning of your appointment, the expert will review your goals to determine how much can be accomplished within a 1 hour session.  If additional sessions are anticipated to be needed, you will be informed before any work begins.

Our scheduling tool also allows you to download the appointment to your Google or iCal calendar for further convenience.  You can reschedule or cancel appointments online up to 24 hours in advance.  And if less than 24 hours in advance?  Drop us an e-mail (services@lime-technology.com) and we’ll take care of it for you.

Our Service Commitment

While you are more than welcome to read our official services terms, here is it explained as simply as possible:

  • If something comes up and you need to cancel/reschedule, no worries, but at least give us a heads up.
  • We only speak English, so if you can’t, we can’t help you…sorry  😥
  • If we can’t maintain a good connection to communicate with you and control your computer, we might have to cancel or reschedule the session.
  • We’re not responsible for any data loss, no matter what.
  • We guarantee your satisfaction.

The last one is really important. because we want to make sure that at the end of the session, more than anything else, you’re happy with the experience.  If you’re not, we’ll refund the entire session.
