    MyMediaForAlexa docker

Got a reaction back from MyMedia: "This definitely could be possible but is not implemented yet. We could trigger IFTTT actions on key track actions from MyMedia. We will have a think and get back to you"

No, it;s not expensive at all, on the contrary i'll see if i can contact support.

    MyMediaForAlexa docker

Scanning problem solved but trial period is over... I have an Alexa dot 2, so my idea is to stream mymedia over bluetooth to a bluetooth device connected to my receiver. I'm thinking of an Audioengine B1 or an Arcam rBlink. Now, it is great to order Alexa around with mymedia, and it will play over bluetooth, but... i have to find a way to set the right input on my receiver when mymedia starts playing. As far as i can see, there is no possibility to use MyMedia as an IFTTT trigger or as a 'thing' in Stringify? Any ideas? I'm look for something like "IF mymedia is playing, THEN tell Logitech Harmony to select input 2"

    MyMediaForAlexa docker

I did have it installed on the same disk (disk1) where my musiclibrary is on... i usually install dockers on my cache/ssd... i've reinstalled it on the ssd now, didn't have time yet to see if it is better, i assume it will be

After installing this i noticed this docker keeps the disk(s) where you store your music library, spinned up 100% of the time... which is really bad. Is there some setting in the docker that might prevent this?

    Split level issues...

I'll give it a try... it always confuses me. To me, exclude is the opposite of include and vice versa, so to me it makes no sense that you can include AND exclude disks.

    Split level issues...

    - My 'TVSeries' share is setup to include disk2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 and exclude disk1. - Allocation method is 'fill up' - Split level is set to 'only top level' so (if i'm correct) only 'TVSeries' itself will be split over disks, underlying shows should NOT be split over disks and should remain grouped on one disk. That is how i want it, i want one show to be completely on one disk. - Underneath 'TVSeries' there are series folders like 'American Dad', Family Guy etc. Underneath each series folder there are seasons folders, season 1, season 2 etc. Now, when want to create a new season 6 folder for 'Orange Is The New Black', i open a telnet/console and go to "/mnt/user/TVSeries/Orange Is The New Black" (which is physically located completely at disk4) and i manually create a folder: 'mkdir /mnt/user/TVSeries/Orange Is The New Black/Season 6', but... if i check it, it is physically created in /mnt/disk1/TVSeries/Orange Is The New Black/Season 6"... how is that possible? Disk1 is EXCLUDED? Why wasn't it created on disk4? This is a recurring issue i'm having. Also when sabnzbd is creating new folders for seasons (post scripting) often they appear on disk1... unraid-diagnostics-20180729-1842.zip

    Disks keep spinning up...

No one can point me in the direction of a python script that can tell if a disc has been spinned up? Like the shell "mdcmd" ? Or does mdcmd also returns some value if a disc is spinning or not?
  11. Thanks, made the setting, did a test and it looks like it's working, i'll have to test some more, also what happens after a reset etc.
  12. For some reason, i always have a recurring issue with timemachine and unraid. After a reboot of unraid, TM can't find the disk anymore and you have to move heaven and earth to make TM finally use the correct disk, even with the setup described here. Once that is done, and the first backup is done (i'm scheduling a backup once a week) in 9 out of 10 times TM keeps spinning up the unraid disk every 10 minutes or so. Driving me crazy. After a reboot that stops, but... most of the time TM lost it's disk again... and the whole sh*tty procedure starts over again... at the moment, i've rebooted the mac, and selected the unraid disk TM should use, it found it, but... it starts accessing it every 10 minutes... and i didn't even do a backup... i'm getting so tired of this. Any tips on how to set up TM once and for all? Basically this setup here works, but how do i prevent TM from constantly spinning up the unraid disk every 10 minutes or so after the backup is finished?

    Disks keep spinning up...

It is hard to say. Inotifywait shows the ISDIR/ACCESS activities on all disks constantly, every 1/2 second, if they are spinned up or down, doesnt matter, and it does NOT give any clue on who is doing it. So i don't think this is what is spinning up the disks. The ISDIR/ACCESS might be some internal unraid proces, don't know... In my case i suspect Sonarr (download agent) for spinning up a lot of disks regularly when it is scanning for episodes etc, and the timemachine backup proces (which in my case runs once every week, NOT once every hour!)... i've been monitoring it closely, at the moment these 2 processes look like to be responsible for my spinup issues, but i'm not sure. The activity plugin seems nothing more then some UI wrapper around inotifywait processes, and while it does show there is access, it does not show who is doing it... you have to deduct from the result you are seeing. Tricky, if not impossible. My experience with the cache_dir thing is even worse, for some reason it actually keeps spinning up all my disks all the time... removed it immediatly...

    Disks keep spinning up...

Is there some (python) script that can tell if a disk is idle or spinning? I know this can be seen from the user interface, but i would like to collect data on when and how long they are spinning, to see if there is some logic to all this madness.
  15. 40TB Supermicro X9SCM, no VM's, 4 dockers (sabnzbd, sonarr, dropbox, squeezeserver)... 4GB. Maybe i'll put in some more once i get some time to play with VM's etc. For now, even 4GB looks like overkill
