emhttp not starting: emhttp_read_line: input line too long

I'm currently experiencing issues similar to those recently described here:

http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=28736.0

and here:

http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=28703.0

However the suggested fix in these threads do not yield a resolution.

I'm convinced that the issue is related to my usenet addons as the Web UI started being unresponsive when I was changing some settings (everything was working perfectly until then, I don't even know why I was changing settings...)  As per the above 2 other threads, it definitely seems that this is addon related so I tried disabling the addons.  Without access to the GUI, I used the following method:

1. Rename the /boot(flash)/config/plugins directory.

2. Rename the /boot(flash)/plugins directory.

3. Rename boot(flash)/extra/.

4. Use the stock go file (boot(flash)/config/go).

That didn't work.  I've since then re-enabled unmenu and that seems to work fine, just can't get the to the default GUI.

syslog shows telltale signs of emhttp issues, namely the last 2 lines:

Full log attached.

Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated, looking forward to your feedback.  Thanks!

P.S.: Is there any way to start the array from telnet?  It's bad enough that I broke the addons but my wife is also mad at me because she can't watch her shows.  If I could get the array started that would solve half of my problems right there.

Have you tried booting into Safe Mode? If you don't see the option at boot (the splash screen) then you're using an older version of SYSLINUX.CFG. It's a text file that is used to configure boot time options. It's included with the distribution files. Safe Mode essentially disables the plugins and uses a stock go config.

However, you say you essentially did this, but it's worth a try.....

Otherwise you should consider backing up the flash drive, reformat flash drive, update to V5.0 final, make flash drive bootable, chkdsk (verify integrity of files on flash, and restore your configuration (config) folder. At this point unRAID should start OK without the "input line too long" problem.

Hopefully things will be OK and you can then start adding back your plugins and test for errors.

Good Luck!

I have been having this same issue, even in v5.0. It showed up the first time I restarted after adding the Headphones plugin (worked fine after installing Sab, Transmission, Couchpotato, and Sickbeard), so I ripped out the directory it was pointing to, not changing any plugin settings or uninstalling anything at all. It didn't work still. Frustrated, I decided to go to bed. The next morning, it works, with all the addons still enabled.

I can't understand that.

i installed headphones and unraid gui (dynamix) stopped working.. deleted headphones_unplugged.plg and headphones/ and rebooted.. unraid gui is still not working. i've done many recent reboots with no issues just recently so it has to be something remaining from headphones..

getting these in my logs
